Sub treeFollow

#1 Nov 16 2007 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
I like to spec sub tree for pvp purposes since i heard a lot of people are having fun with shadowstep. since i am a mut spec rogue with 2 daggers, i think i am going to go for dagger build first, then possibly switch to hemo build once i get a slow MH.

since i never messed around with sub tree before, i like to hear opinions/feedback on the following build.

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ecoxZMZErccMMR0xst

for dagger build, i am not sure if master of subtlety > heightened senses.

thanks

Get Ghostly Strike, get Serrated Blades.

Lose the 2 points in Sinister Strike. If you are a dagger build, backstab is your CP generator.

Meh, old school ShS daggers still sucks. Honestly, just say no to daggers and ShS.

If you really want the ShS talent, pick up a decent pair of swords with BG honor (or from instances) and go ShS swords instead (20/0/41 or 0/20/41). You'll perform much better, and you'll probably be much happier.

If you want to try ShS anyway and all you have is daggers it still works, you just need to plan your fights a lot better.

Most of the time you will want to open with Shadowstep>Garrote unless you are sure that the ambush will kill them. Don't bother trying to Shadowstep>ambush a mage in full Glads...

You will see some pretty numbers if you have enemies below 35% health for the Dirty deeds buff. A quick: Premed>ShS>Ambush>Backstab>Eviscerate can be done without pause if you time it well with a energy tick. If the whole sequence has the dirty deeds buff you will be able to dish out some pretty sweet damage.

The problem is that you will be stuck back in the situation which made ShS weak before the last patch. As a dagger build its very weak after your initial opener because of the terrible CP generation of backstab (especially without seal fate) and the position-dependency that is required to pull one off.

Its fine if you are going to farm BGs and you can just hop around AV picking off people with low health. But don't expect it to work too well in a 1v1 situation. It may be worth taking Camo over MoD. If you plan on picking off low health people you will need the reduction to stealth's cooldown and I always figure that if you are going to be using ShS from 25yards away they wont spot you anyway so MoD isn't as important (especially if you are using daggers). Camo also helps prevent those irritating occasions when you Premed>Shadowstep just as they run away and you can't catch up.

ShS daggers is a lot of fun. If you like killing people when they are half dead....
I do :)

premed, cs, expose armor, gouge, ghostly strike if they are melee.. hemo if not

i use shadowstep to hold them from running since all about about 2 classes need to from a rogue

use shadowstep:
when a mage blinks
after a death coil
if you need to ninja flying kick a heal
if your opponent is low for a big *** flashy evis (my high is just shy of 3400)
to shiv after they run

to move a bit after they root you (it wont BREAK the root, youll move with it... example? mage frost novas and blinks, u shadowstep and stun... they cant move due to stun, you cant move due to nova... but hell they in your melee range! **** em up)

if its a class that DOESNT need to run

premed, shadowstep, garrote, ghostly strike, rupture, vanish, cheap shot, hemo, expose armor is what i do
