so once you're crit immune is it pointless to increase it anymore? or have some tanks out there been so bold to try something new and just go crazy with it and get lik 600?!?! i was just thinking with a huge defence rating surely u won't need massive hp idk i was reading a different post and was just thinking about this

No its not pointless to keep getting more defense, however there are better things to work for. As your Def increases so does Parry,Dodge and Block but those points could be used to increase other stats that will give you more bang for the buck once your crit immune.

banT to you for linking to something totally unrelated.

once you're crit immune (ie have 490 def), more def won't hurt if you can get it without sacrificing avoidance (dodge/parry) or block, but don't sacrifice those other stats for more defense over 490. defense does add a percentage to dodge/parry and block, but direct +dodge, +parry or +block is a more efficient point-for-point increase. unfortunately, you do still need a massive hp pool, as stam helps in big boss fights... i haven't been to gruul's yet, but i've read that after a certain number of Grows he just hits you so damn hard that even if you do have 50% total avoidance, you need a lot of stam just to survive those hits. more stam also gives your healers more leeway and lets them split their healing a bit more to keep the raid alive.
