So in SMV today I saw this rare elite mob walking around. I was sitting in stealth watching it, when a horde rogue decides to try and solo it. Needless to say he gets wickedly pwned, but vanishes. Then for no apparent reason, he drops stealth and mounts up, hovering around the big guy. I've already called my friends out here, and I assume he's doing the same thing. He has around 5% hp and I suddenly get a stroke of genius. I position myself directly under him and figure I'll try to "lol step" up by him. I figured it wouldn't work, or I'd get some random error message. Much to my surprise, I appeared behind him and began falling. I quickly garroted the 5% HP rogue who for some reason tried to fly away and died mid air. This gave me great joy.

Add that on to the several times I've used lolstep to save my life (such as in arena when a priest was casting a greater heal on his hurting team mate and I just stepped over and kicked/blinded the priest) and the fact that lolstep seems to have a 3D range as opposed to a 2D one and I honestly love this ability.

I know I've come on here singing its praises several times, but it just never gets old. Shadowstep in combat is so freaking useful and original, it gives rogues a new fighting style altogether. I've never been so happy with my rogue.

Yea, when i was ShS in BGs, I could pop onto the roof in WSG. I laughed so hard when my group got up there to kill him and he was dead. :P

So, you can sap someone who's flying on his mount?
Or lolstep to a Monstrous Kaliri in Skettis en Cheap Shot him in midair?

That's gonna be fun!

Unfortunately not. You can't perform any from of CC to someone who is airborne.

Although I saw a while ago a warrior dismount in mid-air, hamstring a flying opponent - causing the opponent to dismount too. We then pounded him into the dust. Don't know if you can still do this though.

It works if you get the timing right. But the speed reduction portion of DT shouldn't work on an airborne target in PvP.

I guess its like a "taste of our own medicine" in the sense that for 70 lvls and more, we have been: avoiding death, bad pulls or fights we just couldn't be bothered to fight, by simply going *Vanish!* Now everyone else can just go "lol!" and fly off if they decide they too don't want to die to another ganking rogue.

I suppose using your method Eon, you could slowly kill someone by flying up above them, dismounting & Doing mid-air Mutilate/Eviscerate cycles until they die. But if they are stupid enough to sit there and let you do that they really deserve it...

Players really should be able to be knocked off their mounts from damage taken. But then you'd get suicide ******** who get naked and just fly around looking to pop people.

More like mages trying to gank while flying. POM Pyro, Fireblast, (Ignite), Slow fall. /laugh

That would really suck if any damage made you dismount.

actually, ive had DT work on me while flying, and crip poison/hamstring/frostbolt too. really, any snare works, its just unlikely theyll be able to keep it on you since all snares are under 15s in duration, not to mention most either A.) require melee range, or B.) have a cast time, thus giving any non-afk person ample warning that its time to move.

i did have a rogue follow me throughout nagrand once, flying above me before dropping down to SS me (with a few white hits as well) before DTing me as he hit the ground. he was combat, so maybe he was trying to get blade twisting to proc in the hopes it would daze me off my mount. didnt work for him, but it does make me wonder if thats possible.
