Epic Lock GearFollow

Hi everybody, I just had a question I was hoping I could get some advice on.

I recently turned 70 and I'm looking to get some sweet epic gear. I've been looking at the tier 4 gear which looks great, but I dont think my gear is good enough to go raiding with to get it. here is my gear: http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Aegwynn&n=Quickmacleod

So I'm wondering, what I can do to get some sweet epic quality lock gear? I know I couldn't possibly get the tier five gear or anything, but I would like to improve my gear to be lvl70 epic, so basically I want to know where to start or how to go about getting decent enough gear that someday I can go chase after the tier gear.

Your tailoring is the way to go - get the Frozen Shadoweave (FSW) set: this will give you shoulder, chest, boots. Your pants and belt need a change - you can get better through quest rewards. You need +dmg bracers, again, quest rewards. Replace Oshu'gun with a trink that either gives you +spell hit, or a higher temp +spell damage. Also you should consider BM (part of Kara attune) for a one-hand sword (eg Horrid Dreams, etc) which will give you +spell hit and more overall spell damage (equal to BoD, then adding in the off-hand).

Gem-wise, imo you should get +spell damage, +spell hit, and +spell crit (since you're going Imp SB).

Off-note: I would suggest a respect, you have a lot of wasted talent points.

hmm, what would you suggest would be better in terms of a respec? I've been considering it for some time, just not sure what to change. What do you think i am wasting my points on?

If you're attempting to acquire better gear, you're going to be exclusively raiding (arena would again, require a respec).

On this end, since you're getting UA, you'd want to put some points (2) into suppression - which can easily be taken from iHoT (pretty hard to use in an instance).

I would also suggest 2/2 drain soul for the threat reduction - which can be taken from CoE (CoE is very useful for kiting, but it can be "ignored" as long as you have good control over fear/rec kiting).

As a lock who relies on dots, you should consider putting the points from malediction into imp CoA - although only after your spell damage is +800 at the least (otherwise CoD is more efficient). Depending on your kara group, you might be assigned the malediction/imp hs role - but if you are, it will require a different build (some groups want to "spread out" the responsibility, others want to only "reduce" one person).
