Min stats for heroic tanking?Follow

Your def is okay.

Other requirements:

You'll need at least 15000 armor (With shield ofc). You'll also need at least 11000-12000 hp. Further, you'll need a reasonable spec, geared towards tanking (Doesn't need to be full prot).

I went to do blood furnace earlier today, with a tank with 9485 hp and 11000 armor. He died before healer could get a heal off; Got utterly destroyed.

I'm not saying he got killed or owned. He got ******* DESTROYED. Dominated. Utterly, hopelessly and totally ripped to pieces smaller then atoms, spit out and nuked to utterdeath.

Don't come to heroics like that. Just don't.

And I know about honored... it's actualy how my War has all her keys, BUT... I am also a total min/mak'er when it comes to gear. Pretty much before she set foot to even tank a non-heroic lvl 70 instance.. she had the 490, 30% avoid, 11.5k hp's, and 12k armor.

I have been in those heroics where you wonder.. how did these tanks GET revered with these people?? I can't stand it.

On a note.. off-tanked Kara tonight up to Opera (right before curator.. our MT's account got hacked.. or taken back... it's was just a MESS lol). And had no problem at all with any of the mobs. Our healers actually complained they were so bored during boss fights.. and we survived no deaths on Moroes with 3 DPS/Healers garroted and no deaths.) Alas.. the only thing she got tonight was the Pocket Watch but... it's still better than no upgrades!

So when I am not raiding.. off to find/get my heroic gear for the lower lvl ones and more min/max'ing!!! (am I strange cause I find that fun... lol)

Tried to run SV yesterday on my hunter. Found a PUG after LFG all day. Pally tank...

We wiped more times than anyone ever should. The whole time he was saying "man I need to work on my gear". I looked up his armory and he was sitting on about 450 def. His armor/hp were on the low side too.

So yes, beware!! Now that almost anyone can get in to Heroics they feel they need to try and waste other people's time even when they know they need to work on my gear.

I wish Bliz would put up a warning before they enter in saying "Please make sure you are able to tank this Heroic Instance before entering."

The heroic legs he's talking about are the new ones they put in that you buy with badges. They cost around 75 badges and are oh so nice. :P

i think more people should know what the minimum stats for heroic tanking are, before they blame the tank and instead realize that the group is poorly balanced. i pugged heroic mech, and my only cc was a Spriest MC and a lock's seduce. i have 11.8k hp/12.5k armor/33% avoidance/22% block, and with all the stam buffs i had 14k hp. we didn't even get past the entrance. we pulled out and the pally healer said, "i'm sorry guys, this is a gear issue, i can't heal 5 people at once". then i said, "whose gear?"... the fury warrior says, "yours". i just o.O GG and left.

and yes, i spammed the usual rotation of shield slam/revenge/tclap/shield block/devastate and was careful not to break cc, but of course since MC and seduce suck (with a non-demo spec lock), i had to bail the priest and lock out with taunts... unfortunately they would die much more quickly than the 6 second cd.

GG pugs. i hate you all over again.
