Well on Monday I dinged 70 and respeced holy(leveled as shadow). Now I am at a lose as to what to do next. It seems that my list of things to do is even larger and I can't seem to figure out which to do. I did the daily instance quest yesterday and seemed to have trouble with healing. While leveling I healed as shadow spec and didn't have a problem, but it seemed even running a normal instance I had more trouble. My gear with my self buffs put me at 1010 healing with good mana regen. What I seem to have run into is the heals wouldn't heal for enough and people were dieing left and right.

I guess I am asking for what direction I should be going in. I am going to be raiding 2 days a week, and the rest doing dailies and PVP(PVP isn't my main focus, but I enjoy it). Any tips or tricks would greatly be appriciated.

Also I have This and like it, but last night we had this drop. Since it was a guild run they told me to need. I didn't equip it as I am not sure if its worth the upgrade(ie I could sell and split with guildies). I did a little more research on it and it seems to be a rare drop, and the options for back pieces isn't that great, so I might equip it. Any ideas?

Regarding the cloak, I don't see it as that much of an upgrade. You are losing intel and spirit, and not gaining that much healing (especially if your talents add a portion of your spirit as healing). It's probably not going to matter much one way or another. Do what you like. It is nice to have a purple. At some point you will probably get [wowitem=28582]Red Riding Hood's Cloak[/wowitem] or something similar from kara.

Your +healing could use improvement. Taking up Tailoring and working on your primal mooncloth set, as well as getting the Whitemend Hood and Pants would really give you a boost.

The level 70 purples you get should have +healing enchants, +healing glyphs from rep, +healing spellthread.

Take a look at the [wowitem=31342]The Ancient Scepter of Sue-Min[/wowitem], which can be purchased at the AH and have a +81 healing enchant put on it. This can last you until you get the healing mace from Curator in kara. Skip it if you will be doing kara right away.

Use the Armory to check for other possible upgrades for each item. You can gear up in instances as well. Both regular and heroics probably have items you could use.

I'm assuming you are opening with prayer of mending and using it every time you can, as well as keeping renew up on those taking damage after the fight begins. You will need to watch your agro. It is important if you plan to stay alive to heal the group.

A lot of what I've mentioned takes cash, but can allow the non-raider to get geared up pretty quickly. Make sure you have a good ability to generate a cash flow to help in your efforts.

Look at other healbot talent builds to see how yours stacks up.

QFT...this is more than good advice, they're words to live by!

Prayer of Mending and Renew are fantastic "stablizing" heals. With the previously mentioned +healing stats, your renew will tick at 700 or better, and should be sufficient to sustain someone long enough for you to cast a big heal if you need to. Prayer of Mending will bounce around to different party members healing them when they take damage, and that will buy you time to get to them if more than one person has aggro.

Other than that, my only advice would be practice, practice, practice. Healing is NOT always easy, and it's sometimes VERY difficult to manage your threat, your mana and your tank's health.

Everytime (well, almost) I pick up a new item that changes my +healing I ask my usual groupies to go "get themselves into trouble." I run with an elemental shammy and MM/BM hybrid hunter, so most of the time there's not much for me to do as far as healing. But in order to see what effect the new items have, I ask them both to go melee something so that their health drops and I can see what I'm capable of. You can see what your renew is now ticking at, and it'll give you good practice as to when you need to cast greater heal vs. heal etc. It'll also help you time your heals better. Remember, you're not healing them based on where their health is now, but rather where their health will be in 3 seconds.

Don't get discouraged with it, just remember that it may not come overnight.

Good luck!

You might also reconsider your respec, unless healers are really scarce on your server. Shadowpriests are in high demand as DPS because of their mana return abilities. Since you probably have a good DPS set, why junk it and start from scratch?

Minipickup: Die in a fire (most of you probably can't even see his post, since it was rated down so fast he's at sub-default).

Now on topic... I'd aim for maxing healing while getting a balance of mp5 and spirit. If you spend 100% of your time in the 5SR, 5.5spirit=1mp5. A good goal would be +1600heal and 160mp5 while casting
Consider grabbing tailoring if you haven't. With ZA out the gear isn't quite as overwhelming as it was, but it's still the best available for a long time (plus Blizz has said they want to do the same with with the next expansion, giving tailoring wtfawesome gear). PMC is shoulders, robe, and belt. If you don't go tailoring, the next-best shoulders are Hallowed (until Curator), robes Hallowed (until Bear boss in ZA), and belt is more complicated.
If you've got tons of money, there's a really good belt called Belt of the Long Road. It'll cost you the nether vortexes and crafting fee from an SSC/TK guild though, so I'd guess 1200+ gold. Easier alternatives are the ones from heroic SP, Durnholde, or Primal Mooncloth.
Legs, Whitemend, no question, nothing else comes close until you can kill Kazzak. For the head, the ones from ZA are close, but might be a ways off for you.
The badges gloves, bracers, and cloak are both excellent and fairly easy to get (though the cloak is slightly inferior to the one off Prince).
The neck piece from the Sethekk Halls quest is very good, with the one from Nightbane or ZA being a good upgrade.
Feet, Shattered Halls or heroic Mech, depending on whether you want +heal or regen. There's also Boots of the Long Road, a BoE recipe that makes BoP boots. Gotta have tailoring to get it, and it'll cast a few hundred gold. There's ones from ZA that are about equal, though, so you may just want to hold off.
Trinkets, I'd go with pure +healing ones. The badges one, Lower City revered, and BM ones are all good.
Weapon, go with the one from heroic Slabs or exalted Sha'tar and then replace it with the one from Maiden or Prince in Kara. If you don't want to run dungeons that much, Arcatraz (I think) has a really good one, lots of regen.
Offhand, once again, badges one, either one, depending on whether you'd rather higher higher regen and healing, or higher white stats.
For wand, there's a quest that gives one called Rejuvinating somethingorother until you grab the one from Kara. Sadly, the +dmg badge wand with a Royal Nightseye is pretty good as well due to the severe lack of healing wands.

Gems should all be Royal Nightseye imo, unless you've got a really awesome socket bonus or need to activate a meta gem (which you shouldn't, all the healing helms with meta sockets suck until T5 :P), in which case use the healing/int orange gem.
