Just wanted to announce that I do actually enjoy pvp'n with swords as a sub hemo.

The me two weeks ago would have just dislocated his jaw from it gaping so much. I guess the old saying still applies: don't knock it till you've tried it.

Hemo SS

I'm going to wait until S3 comes out to go Hemo. It will be the first time I've had something other than daggers in my hand in about 10 months.

I believe we should still refer to Shadow Step as lolstep for clarity even though its not a joke any more. i just dont like having 2 SSs

@Shaolinz

I've been thinking about going that route, or possibly going prep/CB because The cooldown management for AR/prep is a complete turnoff to me.

How do you feel your DPS is? What were you spec'd before you went 20/0/40?

I'm muti now, and even with all the positive comments on hemo I'm still a little fearful that I'll lose too much DPS going 21/0/40 or 20/0/41.

I was combat mutilate before switching. I'll tell you this:

1.) Mutilate only does more damage when the target is poisoned and when you're behind them. I always said this wasn't a big deal, but once you experience non-conditional damage, it is.

2.) Shadowstep is the greatest ability rogues have. The mobility granted from it is absurd.

3.) Cheat Death is the best survival ability in the game that directly owns burst damage. I got pom pyro'd for 4k and "died" from it. The cheat death saved me from the ENTIRE HIT and made me basically pwn the fire mage afterwards.

In short, hemo sub may not do as much damage as mutilate but it outperforms it in every other area (and only falls slightly below mutilate overall realistically imo, as people are constantly cleansing poisons in pvp).

Is it true they removed the minimum distance restriction on Shs?

Yes. Shadowstep isn't affected by path either. If you can see the person and they're within range, you can be behind them at the push of a button.

OK, I just respec'd to 20/0/41.

My first impressions are pretty favorable. I'll spend a few hours in BG's and Arena tonight.....I'll have a much better idea by tomorrow.

Jury is still out on ShS. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I'm thinking I'm gonna miss cold blood.

I will say that I was impressed to see my Hemo's critting for 1200 - 1300 on a 70 Undead Rogue in Nagrand (who was probably in crappy greens).

Still....I didn't expect to see numbers that high.

So far I like it. :)

Shadowstep is the single greatest buff to ever occur to the Rogue class. It is amazing how differently a sub rogue and an assassination rogue play...

As assassination, I felt like a bad warrior who would just be kited and laughed at. As subtlety, I feel like a bad *** rogue who has a dozen tricks up his sleeves. Cheat death is the single most hilarious talent in the game, as I can't tell you how many times it has saved me after only having it for one day. Nothing like vanishing and escaping with 1% hp left.

Shadowstep has plenty of non combat uses too. You can use it from stealth to literally walk right through an group of 30 angry horde and continue on your way to their towers (which by the way are the main point of AV now.

Yeah I know. I never went combat though because I hate 5 minute cooldowns, so this whole sword thing is kinda new to me. I'm so used to having that Cold blood on my muti's that I feel naked without it.

For the most part I just gotta learn to dump those CP's into Rupture and EA now.

If ShS could be used on a moving target i would spec it in a heartbeat. Its a shame such a nifty talent is ruined by lag.

Actually it worked pretty well on moving targets for me last night. Apparently much of the problem has been addressed. It's MUCH better than it used to be.

I used ShS at least 20 times last night, and in only two or three times did I step into thin air. When it didn't work perfectly I just hit sprint to catch up to the opponent. I was amazed that I caught up to hunters as well as I did with ShS alone. Maybe it's because I have a really fast connection.

Seriously, I didn't get kited once in about 6 hours of BG's and 1 hour of Arena last night. As far as I'm concerned its better than improved sprint because it's instant.

Edit: It doesn't break roots or Frost Nova's though. That said, last night I cheapshot shotted a mage and got a hemo off. He frost nova'd me in place and blinked. I stepped up to the mage, kidney shotted him (while still frozen in place) and finished him off. Funny as hell. :)

Edit: Gawd my typing sucks.

Yea that's the only weird thing: you'll shadowstep over to them but still be frozen. Save your combo points and it's all good though.
