Fear no longer loosing agroFollow

Ok..I've read in a couple more places the same thing. So while as a protection warrior I LOVE this, want to share a couple down sides. Positioning the mobs will now be slightly more difficult. Mobs with directional AoE's many now turn toward the clothies and fire one off before the tank can reposition it. Second, Rogues will now have to do a bit more work to stay behind the mob. Third, secondary tanks may have to chase after the mob to make sure they are still in range if they need to immediately pull it off, as will melee toons. Fourth, it's possible that ranged attackers may have to move to get back outside the minimum range.

Again, I love this as I believe it will save many wipes. I also makes my job a bit easier. And no longer having people whine at us because we got feared and weren't able to pull the mob off them before they ate the big one (which wouldn't be a problem if they had a threat meter up and slowed down the dps a bit when they have alot more threat than the secondary tank).

If anyone sees flaws in my logic please share as I'm always open to suggestion and comments.

I'll take a Rogue working harder, or the mages moving their @sses a bit, over getting feared, having ALL the mobs hitting our Priest (with no backup healing) wipe any day.

If a melee gets hit with a cone AoE that's his fault. The mobs will be on you (tank) the melee will more than likely have to run to you, not vise-versa anymore.

Agree 100%. Just wanted to give some heads up as to what the changes might mean. I posted it on the main forms to so hopefully other classes will read it, adjust, and stop blaming every wipe on the tank. lol

I honestly don't see any of those things being any further problems than what we had before. If the tank got feared, any melee would still have to reposition themselves when the pack of mobs went to eat clothies, because the entire pack STILL went someplace other than they were before. Ranged party members will probably have to readjust less because once again, you don't have the mobs rushing them, getting inside their minimum range as they did before. While a directional AoE may occasionally hit some of the DPS when this happens...it's STILL better than it was before. A single directional AoE every once in awhile isn't something I'd consider a problem...but the entire pack of 5 mobs running and beating the healer into the ground as soon as a fear went off, as could happen before, is most DEFINITELY something I would call a problem. All around, this is a nice thing to have happen for tanking.

I never had a problem with these fights on my hunter. Let the pet tank, when he fears I cast BW. So its a nerf to the utility of hunters.

Yes, because that's a great hunter niche and the cooldown on BW isnt longer than most fears.

It's a nice change, but you still don't want to miss fearbreaks on anything that actually casts fear.

Why is it that when one class gets a buff, someone of another class has to complain about how it negativly affects them. With all the stuff hunters got in this patch, not one hunter has a right to complain.

Speaking of, my DBM's fear timer isn't exactly accurate and by not exactly I mean way off. This isn't a problem for, as you said, mobs that actually cast fear. Though it is a pretty big one for mobs that have an insta fear (i.e. int shout).

Is there another addon that has a better fear timer?

Also, just a note, it seems that the big felguard things in Slabs aren't affected by this change. When I got feared last night they still went after random people. But it affected the first boss :D
