No since in trying to deny that anymore. I got so aggravated with the super changes to sub but only a minor one to assassination that I basically stopped playing the game. When I did this...

1.) I got a girlfriend almost instantly.
2.) I became a lot less "set" in my ways.

Since my girlfriend also plays wow (I know, awesome right?) I'm going to continue playing and since daggers are horrible now I'm going to be working towards some hemo weapons for season 3 (shouldn't be too hard).

I just hated seeing Assassination die like that. I've been specced it for most of my rogue life. Maybe one day the cloak and dagger will be back, but for right now Blizz seems intent on making it cloak and bigfreakingweaponyoucouldnevereasilyconceal.

Adaptation is key in both the real and online world I guess.

In a few weeks I have enough arena points to get a S2 MH, probably it won't be a dagger....

guys, there is NOTHING wrong with muti

i stuck with non-daggers when daggers was favored, dont be afraid to do the same

I think you're all forgetting to ask the most pertinent question: Is she hot?

Mine is a Tauren Hunter. I actually met her in a bg by killing her lol.

And Mut is bad for arena now compared to sub. Sub has non positional damage, high mobility, high survivability and x2 of every cooldown with a resilience-ignoring talent.

Sub is the new Assassination, and Assassination is the new sub.

I wish my GF played WoW. Then I'd be able to use raiding as an excuse, instead of the cliche "I have a lot of homework."

I had not intended on respeccing when the patch came out. I quite enjoy mutilate and I think the boosts in Sub are great, its good for us to have 3 fully useful trees now. Assassination/Mutilate may not be the strongest tree, but it is incredibly fun to play and just as deadly if played correctly.

Bolded for emphasis. And, in a word, no. AR/Prep will beat the snot out of Combat Mut any day of the week now. It's almost sickening. Almost.

I went lolstep/assassination.

Although I still haven't gotten my sword skill up (it's at 320 now), I found it hilarious that I non crit eviscerated a mob for 1600 (which would have been a normal mutilate evis crit). Couple that with me being able to throw out a hemo every second nearly, and not having to position myself along with the cheat death/shadowstep changes I'd say subtlety without a doubt defeats mutilate now.

I will admitt, playing with swords was more fun than I thought. I don't miss anything from daggers at all, hemo still stuns just as well as mutilate (sometimes better) and I don't have to position myself to do damage. Not to mention shadowstep is a pimp right now (a shadowstep -> 5 point evis on a person below 30% kills them with no questions asked, and that's with a sword skill of 320). I'm definitely a happy convert now that I actually did it.

It's still stun me how people can litterally fall in love with a few points on a virtual character sheet.

First question: What's wrong with playing a spec you enjoy and not worrying about if it does 3182.4 damage or 3025.5991 damage at max?

Second: I got my wife to play WoW. It was a fairly easy compromise. She likes this outdoor crap (its like STV without as many raptors and not as much ganking) and since it has no internet access (stupid woods) I hate it. I told her I'd go outdoors if she played WoW.

Being female she had a rebuttal in the form of: Find more friends that play WoW and enjoy it - do it with them.

To which I countered: Find friends to go outdoors with.

Granted she doesn't play all that much, but she does play and enjoys the brief times she plays.

Best of luck getting SO's to play, kiddies!

The damage isn't the concern, it's the utility and mobility. Shadowstep is probably the best move rogues have in terms of Arena usage. The second would probably be prep and both of those can be obtained by speccing sub. Plus, I'm actually now finding sub is more fun to play believe it or not. Add that to the fact that it does just as high, if not higher, damage than mutilate and I'm quite a happy fellow. I can't accurately compare my damage numbers even once I get my sword skill capped because I mutilated with two epic season 2 daggers and I'm trying to hemo with two blue swords.

I am completely shocked
to hear that demea has a g/f.

All along I thought he was some sort of cynic elemental. Wandering the interwebs, often posting helpful **** while simultaneously melting noob faces.

My story is a bit different. I bought my girlfriend WoW because I knew she was addicted to it in college. I swore all the way down to the register that I had no interest whatsoever in playing the game.

I think that I was a level 25 nelf rogue two weeks later.

On the topic of Assassination going to the way-side...I won't really voice my opinion until people have had some time to adjust.
