my warlock is at lvl 21 atm, ive been lazy lately. but ive read everyone on forums that after an encounter a lock leaves a duel almost at full health and full mana, maybe its just b/c im lvl 21 and i still havent gotten dark pact and mana drain idk, if thats the case then when does a lock really begin to be good?

Life drain.. DoTs, siphon life and life drain. Then life tap to get mana back.

Personally, I'm not affliction, so I can't really do that. If you ever see me at full health *or* mana, I haven't fought in a while.. or I just ate.

Locks get a lot better at 40+ .
At 42 you get Death Coil, its very powerful and useful spell which will save your butt many times =).Around 40+ (cant really remember) you get dark pact.
You also get in those levels Howl Of Terror ,if specced for it ,you can make it instant(40sec cooldown) ,in pvp this is very very useful too.

I almost never use drain mana ,except in arena sometimes.

afliction locks can. dot+drain tank mobs and just before they die. chuck a rank.1 drain soul on them which'll get back alot of mana for you due to the talent 'improved drain soul' this is how we finish most fights with near full hp and mana.

last I checked i never NOT had it proc. or at least the mana gain. I've not gained soulshards from it but the actual 15% mana has come everytime, 'tis why i always spec afliction for heavy grinding. nothing beats it.
