Your pet is not on my top 5 priorities!!!Follow

I feel your pain as well. Though more with my shammy healer. I was healing Blood Furnace with a warlock pet, 2 hunter pets, and a holy pally trying to tank. I had my hands full. As aggro would shift often.

I try my best to keep pets alive, but tank always comes first, players second (as they have armor repair bills- pets do not), pets are last- but if I see they are tanking, I try to keep them alive (tank still takes priority).

My 2 cents:

Mend pet is probably the strongest H.O.T in the game next to a resto-druids top-end lifebloom. If you have a hunter in your group, and he is "not" Beast Mastery.......then his pet will be nothing more than an annoyance, and extra mana sink. I know that some hunters will get offended, but being a hunter myself...........it's the truth.

Just tell them to mend pet, and you are not wasting your mana on his pet.

If I see the pet needs a heal along with the tank, I just use a Prayer of Healing...
