Are Warlocks a big draw for instances?Follow

#1 Nov 13 2007 at 8:57 AM Rating: Decent
I've got a level 33 (or so) Warlock and I've yet to do an instance with him. Is there any call for them to run dungeons? I'm guessing they would be some sort of CC/DPS? I was thinking about going thru SFK and/or SM.

either as CC with succubus or just dps either way yes

lately most 5 mans I go in has CC covered and I use imp for stma bonus and mana tank

Multiple CC's for the win. Banish, Enslave, Seduce, and your fears(be very careful though).

There are also instances where banishment and enslavement are excellent for crowd control, and the fears are sometimes very useful if the pulls are done right. The soulstone is a really nice anti-wipe device, and at one time they were hugely popular simply for summoning everybody to the instance. It's still very useful to have one for summoning if you're in a PuG or doing a very long instance where people drop in or out and need to be summoned from the entrance to where the party is. Not to mention their undoubted benefit for dps and AoE damage.

Actually both, CC (not only seduce) and dps at the same time.

Reasons why locks are great for raids:

1. Top a raid's dps meters.
2. Four forms of cc - banish, enslave, seduce, fear.
3. SS, HS (HS well).
4. Summoning people (either to the instance, or to your group when they've entered the instance).
5. Imp for hp buff.
6. Huge mana pool - for multiple mobs, bad pulls, long boss-fights.

Locks are always the Healers best friend with the SS. My minion, no matter which one you use, is a sixth member for the party.

There has been many times i can recall where i recieved random whispers asking me to do instance runs and i wasn't even que'ed up in the lfg. It always made me laugh getting whispers like "Would you like to do <insert instance> with us we need another dps/cc".

That is true.
I log my lock to do some fishing or transmuting and I get at least 2 whispers about heroic Mech in 10 minutes or so.
People wont accept "this is just farming toon" apology anymore.
Heroic Mech indeed..... *shivers*

Wish I got whispers to do more instances.

Tried for 3 days to get a group together for Shattered Halls. Nada. Nil. Zip.

Bastards.

Lvl 33? I think SFK would be too low for you at this point. Try SM until early 40's, then Uldaman.

I feel your pain, it was just like that for me recently.
Ok I didnt have that much trouble getting PuGs really, but I simply dont care to put up with jerks and there is always at least one in such groups.

I just managed to organize few really nice 70ies in guild (one bad merge almost crashed it totally) and it is such difference to be able to run any 5 man content in group of people one likes and knows. I do know all pre-transfer 70ies on my server but it is very different when you have your own guildies in big enough numbers to do something together.

I sure hope you will manage to make at least one stable group to run whatever you want soon :)
