making my own purple goodness...Follow

#1 Nov 13 2007 at 8:21 AM Rating: Decent
my main is now 375 herb/alch... just a run or two away from being master of elixirs...

main reason i went with herb/alch was that it was a money maker in the pre-tbc days and i've stuck with it for a while.

now i see such nice purple goodness that can be crafted... furthermore, it seems that smiths were "rewarded" in tbc with BoP epics...

granted that one of the major mats needed, you have to run kara/heroics/endgame but i'm seriously thinking... will it be worth swapping to blacksmith in anticipation of what's to come in the new expansion... and also to help me gear a bit better and update my quested blues?

I just hit 375 BS and I am a little dissapointed. Yes the BoP epics are sweet but the cost vs return on the second and third upgrades to those items are not worth it IMO. As far as a money maker well I personally have not had much luck. There are a few items that sell consistantly ( Felsteel whisper knives and Ragesteel items) but Im not the type to stand and say "lvl 375 BS LFW". I am like you hoping to see some rewards in the next expansion for the time money and hard work put into leveling a skill to 375. TBC drops made leveling skills almost pointless.

If you already raid. you don't need to craft.
It might be worth to note, that while you have to run end game for several those items, their is a lot of BS that is nice to help you get to and beyond kara/heroics/endgame.
What items are you specifically referencing?
