I have helped tank him the last few runs and haven't died, but I would like to know how other people tank him. I mostly used distraction shot, arcane, steady, and if "safe" multi.

I'm thinking of getting some NR so any advice there would be helpful.

Thanks.

If you got a dedicated healer, you can pretty much just pound out the damaging shots in full DPS gear without being in too much jeopardy. Distracting Shot has unfortunately failed quite nicely to scale with our level and DPS. Low threat per shot, so a steadyshot would usually give you more threat. I can't remember the number, but I think it was around 800 threat or so.

When we started out Gruul's Lair, we were sadly undergeared. That meant that me and another Hunter shared the tanking. Using Feign Death alternately, we just shared the punishment until it was his time to die.

As for NR, I've never actually used it myself when tanking him. A fairly new Hunter in the guild got himself 300 NR, so he has become the preferred tank these days if he is available for our weekly run. So it certainly helps, but it isn't mandatory if you got a healer on you. However, if you can obtain 300 NR, you can set the healer to heal something else and mostly just offheal on the Hunter Tank.

If you have like 2 pieces of nature resist stuff that makes tanking him easier.
Although you shouldnt forget to FD and get your dps gear back on when he's dead.

You need no nature resist gear at all.
We usually "tank" this guy with two hunters. One of them keeps nature resist aspect up and both of us just nuke that guy. If your raid's dps is slacking you can kill that guy while the rest of the raid downs the other three adds. If they have a good day you won't get him beyond 50% :-)

The only thing import is that both hunter stay at range (this guy tends to walk towards you a few steps now and then) and that both are some yards apart (because of that arcane damage AOE which reduces aggro).

Kiggler does not very much damage at all. A few weeks ago one of our feral druids in his healing gear could heal us hunters without any problems at all.

agreed. though nature would help, there's no real need. just shoot the **** out of him and don't wory about distracting shot really. Not like anyone else but the healers is putting agro on him and if you consider that we can generally out tps even the best tank, it's not like anyone's gonna pull healing agro.

A nice trick I have discovered is that we have better range than his polymorph spell. Stay at maximum range, and he will be happy to trade DPS with you without the annoying rabbit downtime.

A fun prank to play on new hunters helping you tank is to be at maximum range, and laugh as they complain about how they got all the polymorphs.
