Forgive my spelling here please..

I was wondering about how I would go to learn to fight in PvP(whatever area/zone/Battle Ground) I mean I cant understand how the others run all around you in circles and things, seem like it should be easy, but I don't know. If there is anything help that you guys can give me thanks!

And the winner for the most vaguest question award goes to......

Just kidding.... or am I muahahahaha.

Honestly to get better at BGs you just need to run them. What's your PvP experience? Do you duel often? What bracket BG we talking about? If it's lv19, 29 just hang it up now... to many twinks. What BG is it??

BGs are all about staying with the group. Either the Defense group (flag guarding), or Offensive group (flag getting). A lone Warrior, is a dead one, but with a healer we're a wrecking ball.

Yes, you will win the occasional one on one out in BGs, or more than likely you'll be owning him...then 4 of his teammates come out and kill you. Stay with your pack and you'll be fine.

[insert devious laugh here]

i tend to pick out a target that either needs to be dealt with immediately (healer or ranged sitting far back from the action) and deal with them quickly, or if someone is getting focused on by one or two BG teammates i will intercept in and apply the coup de grace. leads to a lot of damage done and a lot of HK's, since you are not likely to be the main target... the longer you stay alive, the more damage you can do. the best i've managed is 6 kills in a row in AV before i was noticed and focus fired on.

Don't matter what lvl of PvP it is I guess. What im talking about is how some people are able to run about you in perfect circles while using all there abilitys and <melee wise> it makes it really hard to land you attacks on them, but there attacks always land on you.
I PvP alot in the 39s now, but I want to learn how to do it alot better.
I was just wondering if there was some sort of thing they did to allow time to stay in your face, but at the same time moving all around you skilled.
I don't know if that makes it easy to understand what im asking.

I'm assuming you're talking about the classic PvP jumping around like a idiot making the classic keyboard turner hit you less times then you hit them move?

Turning fast is done with the mouse (not the arrow keys). To jump you press [spacebar] or [zero]. Getting the figure '8' moving and jumping pattern down takes time, again practice.

It always matters what level PvP you're talking about... abilities/spells always come into play. 2 post Vs 3500+ on Alla (I've read/typed my share of getting help posts).

Some people get really good at running, mouse turning/jumping, that they can: Jump, turn in mid-air, fire off a IC spell, and land in the same direction they were running before they jumped. Mages with cone of cold, Hunters with with Arc. shot and Concus shot. Again it's all about practice.

Do you:
"Keybind" your moves? (Good)
Turn with your arrow keys? (Bad)
Move with your arrow keys? (Bad)
Click your action icons to make your toon do what you want him to? (Bad)

I know a lot of the good PvP'ers use the letter keys to move. I can't get use to it, I use the arrow (up,down) to move, my mouse to turn and turn the camera, and have some keybound abilities.

I was going to try to look up some PvP guides... but IMO no guide can teach you how to move your toon better. If you Bind your abilities and turn with your mouse it'll get you started in the right direction.

aside from what gyfford said, it really is all about the practice. mostly practicing what gyfford said. duel friends. duels arent "pvp" per se, but they are great practice for people who need to learn the physical motions needed to succeed in pvp. once youve got the physical skills down you can start worrying about the more advanced stuff.

which, incidentally, im writing a guide for, yet havent found the time/desire to finish :(

stupid life.

The basics is what im talking about, been runing around NPC for hours trying to learn it right. I do use the letter keys to move and the mouse to turn and using self made macros on the KB to do my actions. its just it seems so fast I guess maybe b/c I'm old but hell i don't know. I just want to get good at working my foe over runing out a bit then intercepting back in for a stun. Trying to get a macro made for equiping a shield then D-stance <if needed> then Shield bash for casters. I have learned that if you see a person turning really slow that you can pretty much own them down, even if they have better gear. Skill and stuff works along ways.
Tomorrow, I guess I'll work on straffing<sp?> a rogue in and out when im comming in to him assuming i can see him >.> This reminds me of Street fighter trying to throw a fire-ball, Or Killer Instinct when somone did the first Ultra combo and everyone tore the Arcade down.. fun times... ha

remember that you have a swing radius in front of you and that you don't have to be exactly face to face with your opponent to connect with a swing, so you do have some leeway and don't have to be absolutely precise when trying to land a hit. you can actually have them almost behind you when you're strafing, and you can still hit them. experiment strafing away from a mob while meleeing and you'll see what i mean.

To get you on your way i will try to post a good macro (dont know if its exactly correct but ppl will correct, right guys?)

macro 1
/equip [name of 1-hander]
/equip [name of current shield]
/cast defensive stance/stance 2 (dunno which one)

macro 2
/equip [name of 2-hander]
(or 2 x / equip when duelwielding)
/cast battle stance/ stance 1

The first one is putting you in defensive stance while equiping your 1-hander and shield (keep in mind you need to keep macro upgraded). Key bind it and your shield bash is easier (i bound it to "shift + mousewheel down" which requires some practise)

The second macro will equip you either with a 2-hander or 2x 1-hander when dueling while getting in to battle stance. This macro is also the third "beserker stance" macro, just replace the battle stance/ stance 1 with eithet beserker stance or stance 3. Keybind these and your life is little bit easier

(i bounded the second macro to "shift + mousewheel down" and the third (zeker) to "shift + mousebuttom 4".

These macro's with its keybinds require practise but when mastered are essential in my experience

Here is a small run down of what i got now pushing down on the mouse wheel is def. stance, pulling back on the mouse wheel is berserker stance, and pushing up on the wheel is battle stance. "W" is to move forward, "S" is to move back, "A" is to strafe left and "D" is to strafe right. "E,R,F", and "C" used with shift are bound for most of my actions and skills, with 123456 also bound.
Using "X" to bandage and "Z" for shield bash, but it seems i cant get the macro right.
