I'm getting a bit confused when reading the post about "defense and mitigation". my problem is I'm not sure if I got the un-crushable calculation correct..
correct me if I'm wrong:
5% base miss
+
6.2% miss (from defense rating - 505~)?
+
block/parry/dodge
+
holy shield (and the libram)
did I miss something or got something wrong?

Yup, that's correct.
Just lump the Block % and Holy Shield % together and that's your actual Block %.
This should reach 102.4% to be uncrushable against a level 73 boss.
