Dear God please give Shamans a form of CC if Druids do so we'd also get invites to 5 mans, especially heroics!

Regardless, I hope this goes through.

im actually not too fond of this idea. we've done just fine without roots indoors for years, so why change it? id actually prefer it if they just made more instances with outdoor areas where roots would work. i know blizzard has the capability to design challenges requiring certain combinations of skills to overcome, so id prefer that they worked out ways of creating areas where roots would work instead of just shoehorning roots into every situation.

then again, im old school.

I guess you are old school indeed. :P

I think your point is definitely good, but there's one thing that bothers me with the idea: All old instances are still considered indoors. :P

So while the new challenges would probably be awesome, Druids would still have a harder time getting into CC-heavy instances. (Moonkins come in mind here, since Ferals can fill in as tanks and Resto as healers)

I think that just one single form of CC, one that does not fully incapacitate anyway, that can be used anywhere would make them things a little more fair in some situations.

druids wont have any more trouble getting into instances than they do now, which is to say, things will be fine.

i have yet to hear of any decent group passing up a druid for anything. maybe in heroic shattered halls where the choice is between a mage and a druid, but even then you CAN do it with a druid; any druid can off tank given the right gear, and thats as good as a CC. any druid can feasibly fill a role in a group. maybe a feral is best as a tank or dps, or a moonkin is best as a nuke, but even if the persons spec doesnt fit the bill of the role, nothing says you cant respec.

and yes, if other people respec for instances (and they do) then druids can too. i know ive respecced prot on my warrior for more than once heroic instance, as well as kara raids, and ive respecced full resto to heal instances above my level before.

Why can't they just make more elite beasts for us to Hibernate? That would be much easier...

Druids will also become even more of a force in WSG, being able to root others in the tunnel/base area. *smiles*

Yeah! How often have I gotten irritated because of that. O_e
You see their guy heading home with the flag and you just managed to catch up with him, you shift out, start casting Roots...

0.5 ...
1.0 ...
1.3 ...

Casting canceled! Sorry, he just hit the magic frontier in the tunnel, try again next time!

Yeah cause druids really needed a buff for WSG (rolls eyes)

Not particularly for flag running but to prevent others to get away. And as far as I'm concerned WSG was only an example. While it doesn't exactly happen every day that someone escapes my Roots by going in an indoor environment, I'm pissed every time it happens. D:

Slightly OT, but one thing I'll never figure out - why can't I root something in a cave?!? I suppose it counts as "indoors", but come on, I'm underground. There are probably roots I could tap above me as well as below - wouldn't that look cool if the roots came out of the cave ceiling and grabbed the target?

I just wanted to vent. Since I can't access the O-boards at work, I can't actually read the link in the OP and therefore can't comment, so I'll just skulk away now and sulk in a corner.

Especially in places like RFK where there are roots EVERYWHERE and all the mobs there can cast roots fine. :(

The one in STV is a 20 main raid dungeon that sadly, won't be seeing much use. Same with AQ20 and AQ40, which are also outdoors.

That won't happen, it's based on where you are, not where the target is, so if you're just outside a doorway, you can root people inside the house.

your Old school Quor,

and I bet in a good guild :D
Thing is Boomkins still from what I see, get passed over often.
in the public eye. Yes you only need 2 cc, but still its not often to
see Boomkin friends get past on for groups. See there is what we all know,
and thats Boomkin rocks! and theres public ignorance. So some like me,
would like to see Booms able to use it indoors. A good player is a good player
no mater what, but they shouldnt have to be constantly proving themselves.

eh... I lost track of what I was thinking, but yall get the point.

it probably *is* my guild tbh. we've run heroic shattered halls without any CC (unless you count psychic scream and intimidating shout as CC) and we've successfully run every 5-man instance with the weirdest possible combinations of classes.

moonkins are FINE in raids. more than fine; theyre pretty great actually, especially grouped with a shadow priest and a healing pally + two casting dps. what stigma that does exist seems to be in the realm of the 5-man, and i havent yet been in a 5-man instance where having a moonkin would be a bad thing. it may not have been the best thing, but there are groups where moonkin are useful and groups where they arent as useful. and it has nothing to do with CC, at least not for us.
