Ranged Pet Attacks & +Crit TalentsFollow

Hi guys. I was wondering if it was even a good idea or even worth the time to invest in points for raising +crit when using a pet that mainly uses a ranged attack (example: Windserpent's Lighning Breath)?

Another question I had was does Lightning Breath crit?

Granted my character is only lvl 17 atm so I have plenty of time to figure things out, I am trying to get a good handle on what talents I should get. I plan on having a BM/MM build and I plan on keeping my Windserpent as my main pet, and just having it spam Lightning Breath while I kite my enemy/player.

Currently I have been stacking +attack power gear over +Agi since I was unsure if +ATk would be better in the long run over +crit, due to the thought that most people try to stack up on +resilience gear in end game arena/bg/etc.

In case anyone was wondering here is a link to my character:

Thanks in advance for any help provided.

I would check the sticky if I were you. A lowbie player like yourself really will benefit alot from it. Secondly, while soloing you really shouldn't even consider kiting all mobs. It will slow your leveling speed to a crawl. Make sure your pet has Growl, and let the pet tank your target. It's what it's there for.

Don't worry overly about your stats. Just make sure you upgrade your gear once or twice every ten levels, and focus on Agility first and foremost. Then Stamina and Intellect. Once you get past 60, you can start looking at your crit/AP/hit ratios, but by then you will have a better understanding of the class.

From the context, I think you're asking if raising your character's crit will help your Pet crit. It will not.

Lightning Breath can crit.

Your pet is not directly affected by your crit chance. For BM/MM focus on raw ap for the forseeable future. When your ap > 15-1600 unbuffed, you might want to think about agi for the added crit instead, but that won't happen for a while.
Even though your pet won't benefit directly from your crit chance, your crits will trigger Kill Command (lvl 66) and Go for the Throat (MM-talent), which give you some pretty nice damage bonuses. Your base damage is way more important though.

I have never had a wind serpent, and I don't know if LB crits. However, its base damage does scale with your attack power.

You have very nice gear for your level, and by the sound of it you know what you're doing, so my guess is you have another character which can supply you with stuff you need while leveling.
If you haven't, don't worry about it, and don't spend too much cash at the AH, save up for your mounts instead. You never keep your gear for more than 5-10 levels anyway.

Oh, and if I were you, I would focus on one talent tree at a time. For leveling go BM until you have 41 points there, then start spending points in the MM-tree. That way you will get to the really good talents further down the tree much sooner.
GL!

Edit: Damn, they beat me to it. What the others said.

Thank you guys for all of the helpful information that was posted.

Just to clear up a couple of things that were said in the responses, because it seems that I confused a couple of people with what I was trying to convey - lol.

I meant kiting for pvp, not for when I'm leveling. My windserpent currently has Growl, Bite(Which I never use) and Lightning Breath. When leveling, like a poster suggested I have Growl + Lightning Breath on auto so the pet can tank. While in BGs I turn Growl off, and just have my pet spam Lightning Breath.

I guess what I was worried about most is since it seems most people later on in the game tend to wear +resilience gear to negate an opponent's +crit attacks, I was wondering later on would I just be better off stacking +attack gear rather than +crit gear?

But after reading the responses, I suppose I would benefit more from stacking +crit & +AGI when my ap > 15-1600 unbuffed.

In any case thanks again for the information, I really appreciate it.

PS: I'm not sure why, but the link is still showing my toon as lvl 16 and about 10 mins ago I dinged lvl 18. Guess it must be lag or a late profile update =(
