Very nice. We are doing 2 nights of SSC a week now, so we took out Hydross, Lurker and Leo last night. Any advice for Karathress and Morogrim?

We got tidewalker close a few times. We had a paladin tank adds and bring them over to tidewalker when he had solid aggro on the murlocs. Then locks just spammed seeds on tidewalker and they dropped fast, and detonated instantly since lots of people are putting dps on the boss. Worked pretty good for us, but we had alot of people making dumb mistakes, and thats about when my old guild fell apart. One of those bosses we really SHOULD have downed.

Then the guild split and I got my mage to Outlands, I haven't raided since. I don't think he's a very hard fight, Hydross is harder imo.

Tidewalker down. Used a strange pally method. A prot pally kept Righteous Fury up and when they spawned I would LT and he would keep topping me off. He stood in the area where the water tombs are so he couldn't be tombed and we actually took the adds out over there. We're actually on a short break during Karathress attempts. We got the first 2 adds down and want to drop him tonight.

race you to it^^ karathress for us today as well

Ran 100 minutes over raid end but still only got him down to 70% after all the adds died. Hunter pet blinks through the floor and gets resummoned, running around slaughtering people. Then again, we were trying to do it with 23, so that didn't help. Next week we start TK. Luck is in our favor we'll be putting in attempts on Vashj and Kael in 2-3 weeks, considering VR and Solarian are both 1 night learns now. <3 quick progress.

thank you, and damn yeah they are nice.

We the biggest trouble we had with karathress was actually the tanks dying due to really stupid mistakes, and once we added trash from the tunnel leading towards leotheras, other than that karathress went down real fast. Some tactics suggest not killing the spitfire totem, but we downded it every time it was put down. i used this macro

/target spitfire
/stopcasting
/cast shadowbolt(rank 11)

Yeah, I have a macro for it too, but mine doesn't actually cast, just retarget so I can wind up SB.

Not a strange method at all, thats actually the most common method of doing Morogrim. We used the same strat with a slight twist, since we dont have any well geared prot pallys in the guild at the moment, we just used a Holy pally(one of our holy pallys is a 40/21/0 build so it worked fine) in hybrid healing and tanking gear, did the LT thing for her to get agro, and when the murlocks all got to her I called out for her to move, mages frost novaed the murlocks in place as our pally ran to where the warlocks were standing on the opposite side of the room, warlocks SoCed and mages used blizzard(our 2 mages are both frost atm). Rinse repeat.....easy as pie

Ranks are no longer needed in macros, and I had more success with Searing Pain than with SBS:

/target Spitfire
/stopcasting
/cast Searing Pain

Grats on the kill though!

we actually tried the same with a pally, but it somehow always went bad, so we changed to a pally and a warrior where the pally gets the southern adds and the warrior gets the northern murlocs than meeting up at the eastern pillar where we bomb them near tidewalker so he does get the ae damage as well. As soon as he hits 25% or was it 20% the entire raid moves into the northern doorway to avoid them bubbles.

kinda hijacked the thread for a warlock-ssc walkthrough^^

Sorry, it was late, I misspoke.. We had a holy pally in PvP gear, not a prot pally.

Didn't see this before, lol. Yeah. We did, but it's ok. Lots of good suggestions and I know a few of us have enough pull in our guilds to get some of the better ideas here put into use.

As DNA said, we got Leo down. First night of attempts on Vashj 3/4 shields down in phase 2. Al'ar and Kazzak down as of lastnight.

Lawl, Kazzak went down on our first attempt. 25 ppl. 1 min 11 sec. He was at 16% by his first enrage....too easy.

Yeah, he's silly easy.

And now Kael has been nerfed so we ought to down him soon.
I've got mixed feelings about that. It would've been more fun to down him pre-nerf, but I want to see MH & BT too ^^

So having one or two people join your guild who have gear from VR(even more so if they are server transfers) wowjutsu will classify your guild as having killed VR.

Close, but not exact. The gear they have can't be credited to another guild or it doesn't count it for you. Unless, of course, they switched servers.

You should have done lootreaver though, it´s really easy to down him an equiping the raÃd with t5-shoulders is really nice +all the other drops.

Stupid idea. 2-3 hours clearing for a single boss and some trash drops that does nothing but get you new gear is a wasted raid. Don't believe me? http://www.wowjutsu.com/us/tichondrius/ Cult of Reason.

All the guilds in the world who took this route are wrong and you are right.

I see during my semi-afk you haven't changed a bit Loki. You fly around telling people they are wrong - people who are more experienced - and perhaps even - more talented than you.

Why not just say to this guy - "thanks for the advice - we'll do it our own way".

I'm just itching to see you burn me down.

Do I have to bother? I think our progress speaks for itself, as does the fact that almost all of the major guilds followed the order of progression and not the order of "easiest loot first." If your goal is to kill Illidan before WoTLK comes out, there is a right way and a wrong way. If you're uncomfortable with those terms how about we go with "efficient" and "inefficient?"

I don't understand what you mean by this. I don't like to **** on a bonfire for the sake of it - and gtz on getting Leo down, but your progress is nowhere near good enough for you to suggest you can use it to prove any point.

You mentioned earlier in this post that Content > Gear. If Blizzard had intended that Al'ar had to come down first in TK - then they would have made it a strictly serial instance - like BWL for example. They didn't and it's reasonable to sugest that the only intention Blizzard had about kill-order was that Kael would come down last.

we're working on perfecting the tidewalker fight, at which point we can start Vashj. We raid 2 nights a week and have shot to 25th on a competitive server in under 2 months. I think it says quite a bit.

As usual you overestimate yourself - I think it doesn't say much - certainly not what you think it implies. Although thats imo ofc.

I can see your point. Kael and Vashj have downed more guilds on my server than the other way around, I'm sure. We'll give it a month, if I'm not rocking Hyjal by then, something is probably wrong.
