Healing yourselfFollow

#1 Nov 11 2007 at 4:17 PM Rating: Decent
Just bought WoW and haven't yet figured out how to target myself to heal myself. I've looked through the book and the forums but no one seems to have addressed this, so I'm sure it's something amazingly simple but I just can't figure it out. Can someone help me out please?

You can target yourself by either clicking your portrait, clicking your character after selecting the spell, or the method I typically use and find most convenient, alt+click/press the key of the spell.

Or you can go into the interface and check "Self-cast" which will make your character automatically target himself/herself when casting a beneficial spell (like heals and buffs) as long as you are not targeting a friendly mob/player.

Target yourself by :

  • Clicking on your portrait (as mentioned above)
  • Press the F1 Key (providing you haven't remapped)
  • Press Alt while hitting the hot key for the spell will self cast without changing your current target

  • Use "Auto Self Cast" in the Interface Option menu (see note below)

  • I don't really recommend the "Auto Self Cast" in the Interface Option menu, as a healer myself I'm wary of it as in group situatons you're likely to have a friendly group member targetted already, which means either clearing the target before casting or it will just cast on them, which means either extra time or the wrong target.
