I'm kind of interested to see what kind of damage you put on the charts, especially if you're getting stormstrike charges from an enhancement shammy.

Sorry for the double post, but the reason I'm asking is because my guild has Kara and Gruul's on farm, but we use a lot of traditional toons.

We've moved more towards having multiple bear tanks since most of our warriors prefer to spec for dps, and we've done well with it. We have several feral druids, a few healing druids, but no druids that stick with pure moonkin that I'm aware of.

I'm toying with the idea of turning my druid moonkin for fun and trying it out. :D

Ive seen some moonkins do great dps.

Also seen them pull aggro if they arent careful.

Btw Moonkin in a caster group = upped dps for 4 other people, a point you may want to make (to help you get into the raid Moonkin style)

Couple a Moonkin Aura buff + Elemental Shaman's Totem of Wrath and you have a lot of casters wanting to group with you guys....and a lot of big numbers in the raid. ;)

Although my personal experience with boomkins is pretty limisted, I have seen them in rare occasions. IMO, they still don´t get the love they deserve.

Their damage is decent, and you´ll be more then able to hold you own VS a, lets say, elemental shammy, or even a mage. Druids do, however, have some major gearing issues (Intellect on leather = still to rare). Crit, Intellect and Spelldamage are you friends, so you'll probably be ninja-ing some cloth caster stuff.

Damage wise, your fine
Mana wise; the reason people call you OOMkin is cause of the moonfire-spam-tactics you sometimes see in PvP; stick with Wrath spamming, and you'll be fine (maybe an odd Starfire? Like I said, my personal experience is limited). Mana/5 stuff would healp, I guess.

All in, gear is the biggest problem, but if you manage to get some cloth, you'll be fine.

*Looks up* A lengthy post on a class I've not played past lvl 40... *waiths for the flamers to arrive*

I do raid as a Boom/Doomkin. The biggest issue you will find is coming up with gear. Since I started raiding I have had no problems with going Oom unless it is a really long boss fight. If you would like to see my gear my armory page is here: Mandragal

I pride myself on only using one piece of cloth gear right now. I did have to use some cloth while working on the gear I have now. Your best spell to spam will be Starfire. It is the most mana efficient damage spell we have. Use Insect swarm as needed as the 2% miss chance is useful and the damage to mana is not horrible. There are a few arcane immune enemys and here Wrath spamming is the only way to go.

I partially disagree with this statement. While you do want a little spellcrit in your gear, its definately shouldnt be your main stats to look for. Without any aggro reduction Moonkins tear aggro off the tank easily and having a nice string of crits wont help the matter at all. The raiding Moonkin in my guild mainly looks for Spellhit, Spelldamage, and Int. He claims he even looks for spirit and stamina before he tries to get spellcrit.

Yep I agree. Dont even have to raid to know this =P Moonfire is to much of a mana burner and is almost completely useless in groups IMO

Moonfire = Critterbane.
That's bout its only use (in PvE anyway).
I suppose you could also called it Druidrend.

Moonkins are like ferals. But for casters. Remember that aura ferals have? moonkins have their own version of it. As do tree of lulz.

Thanks for the responses from the raiders. That clears up a lot of good questions.

Anyone have a screenie of damage after a kara run they could toss up?
