Shift-Breaking CCFollow

#1 Nov 09 2007 at 8:40 AM Rating: Decent
I was recently BGing in AB. I must say that i <3 my ability to shift out of nearly all CC (not to mention complete immunity to poly). However, when i came upon several hunters, I noticed that my shifting did not break their Freeze Trap effect. I was under the impression that I should be able to shift out of this trap -> bear form -> feral charge to pwn these silly hunters. Why is it then, that I was unable to shift out? I did notice i was having some latency problems (at school, during peak hours), that was messing with the global CD on shifting. Any ideas?

it wasn't a lag issue, we really can't shift free out of frozen traps. Like fear it's one of the few things we can't break free of

I'm pretty sure we can trinket out of them but I'm not too positive. I know trinkets work for fear so I assume frozen traps too.

I can only confirm what the previous poster said. Druids cannot shift out of a Freezing Trap.

If you carefully read the description of our shapeshifts, it says "The act of shapeshifting frees the caster of Polymorph and Movement Impairing effects."

Being frozen is more than just being movement-impaired. If you were able to cast spells or use skills but not move, that would be movement-impaired. Being unable to do anything beside passive stuff like shapeshifting or popping a trinket means you won't be able to shift out to get free.

Being frozen is classed as a Stun I believe, and can be trinketed out of.

As a paladin, I can tell you that BoF does not get you out of stuns.

Will the talent that gives 15% of stun/fear resistance work for f-trap too, then? Well, I'm starting to change my mind about this =P
