hey guys,
i just started with a 70 BE pally, but up until now i had a warrior. id like to know some basic tanking information such as: is there a different strategy when tanking as a pally? am i looking for the same stats from gear? what r the basic pally moves that i shood be using while tanking as a pally?
im starting at lvl 70 cuz i got a friends account, so im basically 100% new to the class, so any other info involving pally attacks, moves, buffs, etc. towards tanking wood be great

Well, first there's the sticky. That has um...all the information you're looking for.

You can also try levelling a class, part of levelling is the learning process. Hence why e-bayers are hated. Not that you're an ebayer, you didn't pay...

I fear you won't get any sympathy here.
The sticky covers all you need to know and has even been done by a Prot Pally so it should be pretty accurate. Skip the parts you don't want if you must, but I doubt anyone will bother summing it up for you.

If you looking for a hand to hold, you won't find it here. If you really want to be a good tank, you will go level your own. Thats the truth. There will always be those instances that will catch you of guard. If you don't level a class from 1, you won't have the same basic knowledge of the class.

Leveling helps your timing, efficiency, and mana management. Hell you won't even know all of the uses of each ability.

Nope, no sympathy for people too lazy to take the time to read what others have put so much of THEIR time into making. I endorse the sticky. Read it. Learn it. Love it.

For basic information on palatanking, go to http://elitistjerks.com and read their "how to pala tank". Theres a good half hour (or more) of reading there!

I don't understand how people think they can do this. I took a break from the game for a few months and when I came back it was like I hardly knew my paladin and I'd levelled him to 70. I've been rusty getting back to where I was, I can't imagine trying to do it with no fundamentals.

To the OP my advice to you would be to stop trying to think you can "be lazy" and tank. Stop trying to play a paladin tank at 70. All you're going to do is contribute to the mindset that pallies are awful tanks.

Stop it.

I have to agree with Celcio. Before BC I had the opportunity to play a friend's level 60 Shaman from time to time, and having only leveled my own Shaman to 29, I really sucked at playing hers. I knew the basic concepts of course, but the more advanced things, and the higher level spells, I had no clue about. I only went to a group once, and thank god I wasn't MH ...

Yeah I played my dads 70 Walock and Hunter from time to time and no matter how much I played them both I could not get a proper handle on them because all I've played is a Paladin and a Druid.
