I was running around the Zep master outside of UC, just throwing fort on everyone I see... just cause its the nice thing to do. one of the hunters I believe he was 25 or so...

Anyways he was saying that he could see the ocean using his Eagle eye...

Well I thought " sweet! I wanna see!" so I throw mind vision on him cause it states "Allows the caster to see through the target's eyes for 60 seconds." and since the hunter I threw it upon was looking though his eagle eye I should be able to see the same thing right?

WRONG...

It was as if he was just standing there, not I'm not saying they should change the spell. Cause well lets face it its nice for looking around a corner , or seeing if there is that mob you where looking for 100yds away through a mobs eyes. Maybe just a wording change.

I think I threw it on someone who was flying out of IF also once, I could follow him a bit, then it dropped.

Who's eyes were you looking through if it wasn't through the hunter's?

Technically, you are looking through the hunter's eyes. Eagle Eye, I would assume, creates an invisible character/camera and the hunter player's screen is readjusted to that position, but it doesn't follow through with Mind Vision because it cant' target that invisible camera and the hunter still remains at the same location.

You can Mind Vision incredible distances, though it seems to be a bit screwy as to how. I've been able to Mind Vision an Alliance lowbie in Arathi who was hearthing to SW and it stuck, and I Mind Visioned my way around :P You can also apparently go from Gruul's Lair to Skettis. However, it seems semi-random as to when these long-distance things work and when they don't.

And for reference, from Ogri'la to the Netherwing island is about 10,000 yards according to Cartographer, so in reality going from Arathi to Stormwind shouldn't even be possible I don't think, as that's a much farther distance.

You guys have to remember that things aren't layed out as they appear in WoW. There are several weird positionings in WoW. Let's take the Mages Tower in Stormwind for instance. Where would you think it is located? Above SW? Nope, it is below the world beneath Stormwind. I tracked Onyxia running around Stormwind once, checked the /who Onyxia to see who was in the lair, and sure enough. Someone was raiding Onyxia and I saw it from Stormwind on the map. And no, it wasn't in the keep, this was near the AH.

Distance works for things you can actually see close to you, but once you get into the relative distances between zones and their relative positions, we get into some seriously advanced geography. I jumped from Teldrassil once. I landed beneath the world and ran on towards Darkshores. Found another hole beneath the world, jumped in and landed in Hyjal. The really weird thing is that I hadn't even ran half the distance towards Darkshores.

Thus, anything with as high a range as Mind Vision is pretty much impossible to predict the limits of.

I'd also like to add that, yet again, the spell does not actually do exactly what it states.
According to the description, one should be able to "hop" targets, because another target is in range of the original. When I try to do that (in range), it just tells me that the next target is not in my line of sight!
Why would my physical line of sight be of consequence, when technically my sight has changed to that of another target? One might say that is the case for most spells, but yet, the spell Prayer of Healing works within range and with-OUT line of sight!
Why can a priest heal without seeing a target, which is a huge advantage over just poking around?

It is your line of sight. You're the one casting the spell not the mob you cast mind vision on.

The description says that I would see through the target's eyes. That makes their line of sight my own. How can I have two lines of sight?

You don't. You have LoS, and your target has a separate LoS. You do not "gain" their LoS, as the spell is still based on your casting point, not the target's.
That being said, I've never had problems Mind Visioning around.

I'm pretty sure he's not trying to be unreasonable but just stating a technicality. It makes sense if you take it all in 'reality'.. :D

I remember chain Far Sighting through so many zones before it finally messed up and didnt cast right..ahh, fun times ^_^

Just to clarify, Mind vision has two ranks. The first has a 100yd range and does not let you leave your line of sight. The second has 10000yd range and does let you jump past your line of sight. I remember when I rerolled I was confused as hell as to why my mind vision wasn't working correctly so that could be why you guys are having problems.
