I'm wondering which would be a better staf?

Emberstone, without a doubt. It has both +stam and more +int. The +spirit is important for druids and priests.
Emberstone is the better with the +stam on it. Higher spirit is pointless for mages with 2.3 anyway (if I remember correctly).
Yup, what they said. Staff of Westfall was all I had for many a level, but that's only b/c my dice were cold whenever Emberstone droppped.
So has a mage i need +stam and +int + I have emberstone staff.

Definitely Emberstone. I carried that for quite a few levels if I recall correctly!
Definitely Emberstone, stam and int is what you need. Not spirit.
