Comes across really nasty.
Don't worry about the intricacies of your build because picking that build makes you stupid.

Surely 20 combat is nice too, but ouch.

Heh, you don't read the rogue forums much, do you? We're nasty in there.

But anywho, it's been empirically and theoretically proven that DW Spec will yield higher DPS than Dagger Spec or Opportunity.

continuing in proper forum.

Apparently it is stupid to be 41/0/20 because the combat variation yields higher DPS. Note that we are talking PVP.

Would like some opinions and thoughts on both builds, am open to suggestions, and more than willing to try any build.

Had also considered Muti/combat but some sub talents seem invaluable.

As said many times before on this site, Muti-Combat does way more damage than Muti-Sub. The sub talent are nice & convenient, but most people consider the extra damage from combat more important.

About your current build: as a mutilate-rogue, you really should put points in Improved Poisons. The points in Remorseless Attack are bad, imo. Move those 2 point, the 1 point from Vile Poisons and 1 point from Master Poisoner to Improved Poisons.
And you could consider moving points from Serrated Blades to Camo.

Not much new to discuss on this topic I'd say since the 2.3 changes to sub affect mainly the deeper part of the tree.

So I'd say that what was true in the past remains true:
- Muti/combat offers better sustained damages and better survivability when you're in combat thanks to great talents such as Imp Sprint (and Imp Gouge to a lesser extent).
- Muti/sub really makes you better at stealthing, and sapping.

Now it's really a matter of what you prefer. It's highly situation dependent. For BG's, I'd say go Muti/Combat. For arena, it depends. In 5v5 for instance, I'd say also Muti/Combat. For 2v2, this might shift in favor of Muti/Sub, because not being seen and having a nearly guaranteed start with one opponent sapped and the remaining one on which you can open is a nice advantage.

To conclude: both have their pros and cons, but unless you focus mainly on 2v2 Arena, I'd say go Muti/Combat (that's what I am now, see build in my sig).

There's no good reason that a PvP rogue would go 41/0/20 unless they were only trying to do 2v2 arena.
