Prep macro?Follow

I leveled as hemo to 70 but I was level grinding and doing world pvp but not so much of serious PvP as I do now. I am going back to AR/Prep with 2.3 and want to setup a prep macro so I burn any leftover cd's before prep goes off so I dont leave a cd up I could have used.

My dilemma is that most sequence type macros I've used usually have to be spammed. I don't want to have it go through half the macro burn prep and then burn a fresh cd again accidentally spamming it... would a /castsequence work for this? Or what type of macro would work best for this action?

Anyone more adept with macro's that can help put one together would be sweet. Since its AR prep, it would need to include adrenaline rush, evasion and sprint.
I will still keep a normal prep hotkeyed somewhere in case I dont want to burn evasion but I think the macro would really come in handy in a pinch.

I don't think what you want is possible, not 100% sure though.

What you want is also silly. Use your cooldowns when you need them. Use prep when you need it.

I wouldn't say it's silly, if I understand his idea correctly.

Since all your CD are going to be reset anyay, it makes sense to use some of them beforehand "for free", which can never hurt, namely: evade, AR, CoS, and sprint. I can very well imagine hitting Prep because I need a second vanish real bad. This probably means I'm in the heat of battle, so getting "free" evade, AR, CoS and sprint would certainly be nice.

I don't think that there is a way to activate evade, AR, CoS and sprint with one key hit. It would require sth like a /castsequence macro, which means hitting it 4 times over 3 seconds or sth like that. Which removes all the interest of what the initial poster wanted to know, which would require instant effect.

My conclusion: good idea, but not doable, sadly. I might be wrong though (would love to be wrong on that one actually).

The idea sounds like this to me:
"I want a macro, so that when I need to use prep, four other things happen first."
I might be grossly misunderstanding it, but yeah - the way it looks to me seems odd.

i THINK

/castsequence [reset=30] Adrenaline Rush, Evasion, Sprint, Vanish

would let you spam it, and the macro wouldnt reset for 30 seconds... then you couldnt accidently use ar after preppin it back

i am very unsure though, try this out and post if it works

Another that might do what you want, I believe, is the following:

#showtooltip
/cast [modifier:alt] Preperation
/stopcasting [modifier:alt]
/castsequence reset=Target/Combat Adrenaline Rush, Evasion, Sprint, Vanish

It would require that you spam it, but basically:

First click is Adrenaline Rush, second Evasion, Sprint, Vanish. Change the order if you want. Alt+Click is Preperation. Switch targets and the macro resets (or at least it worked that way on my lock's version of this same macro :P)

/castsequence reset=(insert wanted time until the macro resets) cooldownskill, cooldownskill, cooldownskill

Works fine if all u want to prevent is the accidental use of a prepped up cooldown.

I use something like that for my mage's water ele to have the frostnova and ele on the same button :P
/castsequence reset=45(the time the ele lasts xD) summon water elemental, freeze, freeze, freeze, freeze, freeze, freeze

Wee, the noobiest way of a water ele macro ever seen!

That is pretty much what I was looking for with the exception of vanish. I just could see vanish creating more problems swapping to a different stance bar when I'm in the middle of something else. I'll try it tonight and post if it works.

Well, the reason you want prep is most likely because you are in a sticky situation and want to use your ability that is on cooldown ASAP.

If you start using other abilities that cost glabal cooldown wouldn't that kinda obliterate this?

Talking in an arena perspective, don't tihnk you would have 4-5 seconds to blow the other cooldowns...

But still tell us if it works ^^.

Yeah it'd be sort of cool for BGs, and if possible I always try and blow all my CDs before prepping. But in the arena it would not work well.
