I remember reading somewhere that overhealing is not supposed to give you mana back. I also remember that while it SHOULD be where you get mana back equal to the percentage of health you were down (i.e. if you get 10% back and have 1000 damage, but get healed for 2000, it would give you back 100 mana instead of 200), but that it would give back 0. Even if you got healed for 10k when you had 9999 damage on you. So which is it now?

You only get mana as a percentage of your hit points actually healed. They took away overhealing giving you mana, which really is more of a nerf to holy/ret paladins than to protection.

I know THAT, but I read that if you have some damage but still get overhealed you get 0 mana back. So if you're at 9K/10K health, and you get healed for 2K, that would be 1K of heal plus overheal, are you going to get 100 mana or 0 mana?

(Answer I'm looking for is in the form of "100 mana" or "0 mana" in direct response to the question).

100 mana. That zero return on overheals was a bug they fixed rather quickly after the Spirit Illum nerf.

Ah kk thanks! Yeah I stopped playing my old pally around that time (was playing with a RL friend who deleted the toon on that server) so I missed the updates when I went back to my hunter.
