HFP doesn't remind me of The Barrens so much as it does the fourth act in Diablo 2, which is why it's one of my favorite zones in the game.

I was looking at WotLK and it mentioned they are bringing back the Azerothian feel to everything so that it doesnt seem ao "alien" when you get there :) That promises to be quite interesting.

I never even considered Hellfire Peninsula even remotely like anything but act 2 in Diablo II. Act 4 would be Shadowmoon Valley.
