Hi all, I just respect to MM recently because most of the time I cannot keep my pet alive in heroic or raid boss fight :-(
Now I am worry my dps will drop substantially due to the change, anyone can convince me if BM is not always the best choice for dps? (in another word, MM is cool too, lol)
My another question is, is it worth to get Gladiator's Painsaw (without any Hit Point) and replace Sonic Spear?
My current stats for MM/SV are as follows:-
AP 2200
Crit 22%
Hit 104
BTW, I consider myself a newbie hunter (despite with kara geared and epic crafted gear) as my main is Mage :P.
P/S I am shame of myself if my dps is low when compare to other blue geared dps class :( in which I am trying to avoid that.

Painsaw for sonic spear, no way =)
It sounds like your base stats are pretty good... so I wouldn't change much. What may help is changing your shot rotation. Often times, that's what's holding you back from top DPS. The stickies at the top have some great macros for the different specs that will help maximize your DPS output.
Also, keep in mind that as a MM it doesn't mean your pet won't die... it still accounts for 20% roughly of your personal DPS and will probably die more... but it's all about pulling out at the right time (Wow, I sound dirty). If you see him get low on health, pull him out, toss a heal his way, and then send him back into action! hehe

Unless you really work at it you most likely will see your dps drop pretty good. But marksman is still a very viable build for anything in my opinion. With the new patch it will get a few good buffs so you may really like it here in the future. As for gear. I would stick with the sonic spear. And if you consider yourself a newbie hunter than you can always read some of the info found on these forums. As of right now i have tried every build and like beast mastery just as much as i like marksman, I still have not gained the love for survival as a primary yet, but im sure with better gear and some time it will be a favorite of mine for raiding also. My thing is that i find myself in heroic five man's and normal five man's helping guildies more than actually raiding, So marksmen at the moment is right for me.
Im not to sure that you will fully enjoy marksman if your raiding alot, Many of the benefits from the marksman tree involve having a versatility of shots, but things like scatter shot and silence shot dont do to much in those instances. and true shot is the weakest of the party buffs. but on a good note its up all the time. But in the next patch we may see hunters that spec into the marksman tree doing more damage than beast mastery hunters because the stings might actually be more useful now that they scale to attack power. and of course the many other buffs to arcane shot and aimed shot will help alot aswell.

Your stats look great, but I don't know about your skill as I've never played with you or have any way to gauge it. I know I am a good Hunter as I have out DPS'd full Kara geared (purple) Hunters in Pre Kara Blue's and Greens with worse stats, but that says more about the other Hunter than it does about me.
Shot Rotation, CD use, pet damage, crit% and hit rating are the main things to make sure you have in check and as it looks like you have your gear/ stats taken care of, your pet damage should also be good, so the only thing to worry about now is shot rotation and CD use from trinkets and otherwise.
Rapid Fire as often as possible on bosses obviously, but don't let it go to waste either during trash on the way to the boss. A simple Auto/Stead/Arcane shot rotation should be sufficient as MM to do some decent DPS but on Bosses add in Multi-Shot and Serpent Sting for the extra DPS, although Scorpid Sting should be used for the harder hitting/ tougher bosses to lower their hit%.
Pet Control is essential for all Hunters as they add to a minimum of 20% of your total DPS and shoould therefore be taken care of. I always throw on Mend Pet as soon as I see him taking damage and if I know he's going to be taking damage as soon as he gets into melee range, I toss a mend pet as he's heading to the mob to keep him topped off for as long as possible. Also, for the longer fights I try to keep Mend Pet in my rotation to make sure he's always alive as a Kill Command crit can hit for as much as 3500 on some bosses like it did for me yesterday in Curator while he was doing his innervate.

No, your Stats are about right, your not doing too bad, before I respeced my RAP was 2150, Crit was 25%, Hit was 88, and HEALTH!!! was 8.5k- big deal for me as I raided alot.
Take a look at Sulldoon, he has some pretty easy to get gear, and I was topping DPS charts with it, so you might want to see about getting some of those items.
And yeah, stick with the damn Sonic Spear
