Personal Arena RatingFollow

#1 Nov 06 2007 at 10:36 PM Rating: Good
Now that patch 2.3 is expected to come out possibly next week, and with that there are many speculations that arena season 3 will come out soon following. And now it is time to start worrying about my rating. I need an 1850 rating for my weapon.

Now on my 3v3 arena team that I really care about and am trying to get a high arena rating I have around a 1700 rating. But then I arena with my friend, who is not the best, and our 2v2 rating is 1400. Now will my 1400 rating hurt my personal arena rating as to where I will need to get my 3v3 rating greatly above 1850? If so that would really suck.

Or do we not have enough information on how exactly the personal rating system will work to answer this question. Or, fingers cross, did they scrap the personal rating system and just base it off of you highest arena rating.

Wow totally meant to post this on the main wow forum

Here you can read the whole explanation about Personal rating on the chart with the blues question and answers.

What I underestood about that is that the Personal Rating will work with the same formula of the rating formula of Arena, but only on the games you participate. If you have 4 guys on a 3x3 team, you win 10/10 matches, than another guy enter on your spot and win 8/10 (on a total of 20 games), your personal rating will be higher than his and the other 2 guys, who played all 20 matches with 18 wins, will have a higher personal rating than yours.

Here´s is the response:
"Q: What is a “Personal Rating”?
A: We’re introducing an additional rating system with the start of Season 3 that will only track your personal games played, which you’ll be able to see through the in-game PvP interface. This rating will be used to determine the ability to buy specific items, and also to determine eligibility for the end of season rewards. The personal rating rises and declines using the same formula as the arena team rating, but only in games that you participate in. If you switch teams the rating will be reset to a default 1500. The personal rating is only used for the initial purchase of specific items, and isn't required that you maintain a rating to use them."

At least for me, it's not clear if we'll have one personal rating in general or one for each team.
