Executioner and MongooseFollow

#1 Nov 06 2007 at 4:11 PM Rating: Decent
When the next patch comes out, I'm going to put these two enchants on my 2 weapons. But since Executioner is very rare and costs a lot, I was thinking of getting Mongoose on my mainhand first. Would it matter which hand weapon has which enchant in this case?

i assume u are dual wield. it won't matter which enchant is put on what weapon nut it may be better to hold off until someone has an idea of how often executioner procs before making a decision that could cost you alot of money only to have to switch it later. a faster proc may be better for main hand since it will deal more damage and not miss as often which is huge if you don't have the hit rating.

No, it won't.

Except that I don't know which weapon hits more times for a warrior.

And you would want the Executioner on whichever hand will hit more often.

Well, the offhand weapon is a lot faster if that's what you mean. But I guess the mainhand weapon hits more often since it does all the special skill damage.

With a rogue I know the offhand hits more even with SS spam.

I would assume a warrior's offhand hits more just because they have less instant attacks than a rogue and coming in 2.3 one oa warrior's instants will hit with both hands.

If Executioner has the same number of PPM as Mongoose I would say put Executioner on your OH.

The only way I would put Executioner on your mainhand is if it has double the PPM of Mongoose.

You know PPM is adjusted for weapon speed, right? That's why it's PPM. A 1 PPM weapon is set to proc once per minute if you just autoattack with it, which means (say) with a 3.0 speed weapon it'd have a proc chance of 5%... but a 2.5% proc chance on a 1.5 speed weapon, so on average you'd only get one proc in a minute with both.

This gets heavily skewed since instant attacks (Whirlwind, Bloodthirst, Hamstring et al) _also_ use that proc chance whenever they attack... so while you'd get the same number of procs when autoattacking, you'll get a hell of a lot more procs off instant attacks when it's a 5% chance per instant than a 2.5% chance per instant.
