Destructin Lock HelpFollow

#1 Nov 06 2007 at 11:07 AM Rating: Decent
I currently have a destruction lock that is halfway to level 70 and im doing great dps already, but im wondering which gear i need to go for. I am not a tailor and was wondering what was the best gear that a destruction lock should go for. I'm wondering if any of the sets found in instance's such as possibly mana etched or oblivion compares to some of the crafted one's because they seem to be expensive and easily replaced once i begin raiding.

Any suggestions on what kind of gear to shoot for and what might be the minimum gear to get to be able to start kara runs if i find a guild that is maybe not farming kara but doing a decent job in it.

Since you're not a tailor.. unless you have tons of gold to throw around, the instance sets are probably good enough until Kara and beyond. I personally think the Mana-Etched is better than Oblivion for a destro, since it has more spell crit and better set rewards. I'm no fan of the resilience socket bonuses, but you can just ignore those anyway.

The Oblivion set is still good, though, and it's much easier to get. No heroics necessary.

If you ever decide to be a tailor, farm for the Frozen Shadoweave.

If you're rich or have tailor friends, the Battlecast or Spellstrike set is good.
And there's always Spellfire if you're into being a crazy fire lock..

Lastly, there's still the Imbued Netherweave set. Plenty of MP5, spell damage, int, and stam.

Oh, and to answer your last question.. 70 blues are usually enough to start Kara. You should get a couple replacements before you hope to finish it, of course, but my guild's starting Kara today, and I'm in simple 70 instance blues with 2 pieces of Oblivion, the Mana-Etched Crown, and the Incanters Gloves.
