I was just wondering if I could get an honest assessment of how many hours everyone plays in a week. Do you play everyday? Only on weekends? Do you ever play for < 1 hour at a time, or must it be 3-4 hours to get anything out of it? I ask because I am finding that to really have a competitive pvp rogue, I seem to have to put in a huge amount of hours gearing / practicing combat / farming honor or gold.... I cant play wow everyday, in fact I shouldnt play at all on weekdays. I hope to get responses from everyone, not just the bigdogs!

haha. That wasn't lately. Most of that was over the summer when I didn't have a job, etc.

I think I was doing something like 20-35 or so when I quit. All I would do is log on to do 2v2 and 3v3, lol.

Having an epic mount, 2500g and pretty much every quest done leaves you with a lot of freetime in-game.

I think actually that about 50% of my 20-35hr playtime was me dicking around IF on my mount.

I'de say I play about 6 hours everyday and the weekends it can jump to 15 on fri/sat/sun each. Its rather addicting, Everything requires so much time and effort. If I only had an hour a day I don't think i'de get anything out of it. Heck I spend the first hour checking my mail on all my toons....

Honestly, I probably play about 50 or so hours a week, and that's a little on the conservative side. I'm almost ashamed to admit to it, but that's the truth.

I've learned that you can, in fact, fold a basket of laundry and start/advance another load in the time it takes you to fly from Darn to Un'Goro.... Dinner can be made while you auto follow someone to your next destination etc. It's pretty sad really. But... it is alot of fun, it keeps us out of trouble, and it's something my husband and I do TOGETHER. It's not like we're ignoring each other in lieu of a video game. Our computers are less than a foot apart, and we're having a great time!

I usually can get in 3-5 hours during the week, and maybe another 5 during the weekend. Every now and then I will get lucky and be able to do a hardcore weekend where I am playing close to 20 hours, but they are usually 3 months apart.

It sounds like you are in the same situation as me, and have commitments that keep you from putting in a lot of time. Just realize what your limitations are with shorter play sessions... You will most likely not be a raider. You are going to take longer to see content. You are going to progress slower than your friends.

What I would suggest is sitting down and figuring out what you need to do and what you want to do every week. This way, you can make sure to effectively use your time when you log in.

I probably spend about an hour or so during the week doing my daily AH business. I may play from about 8:30-10:00 a couple nights. I usually play from around 8:30-12:00 or up to 3:00 am on Fridays, and I play most of Saturday. So....I would say I have about 20ish hours logged weekly.

To get started with arena it does indeed take a lot of time... to farm honor, get a few pvp items (WAIT WITH BUYING THEM 'till 2.3.0 arrived... a good lot will change) and to get decent weapons to wield. Once you have what you need to be effective in arena and everything is enchanted it's easier.

If you are pretty much geared out pre-arena you can just do your 10-30 arena games per week which may net in a total of 10 hours online per week. Once you are at that point it doesn't need much more except if you want to actually get your arena rating up by a lot, u'll have to do some more arena's then.
All this matters on is that you set pre-set days and times when you are going to go arena. As long as that works out you don't need to meanlessly log on if you don't want to.

However... The getting there does take it's time. If you can't log on so often it will just take some longer :) don't let yourself get discouraged.

to get work done on my rogue

maybe 5 hours a week since i stopped raiding... and thats being VERY generous

more like 1-2 a week

for pvp you can make good progress with 2 decent night sessions of pvp

night 1: bg farm wheatever is the weekend
night 2: get arenas in, at least a 2v2, then some instances/heroics/daily quests to build your non-pvp side.. or more bgs

1 serious bg session if you win a lot can get you a lot of honor, should be able to pull a new epic every other week at least

just gotta give it 1 good night and hope your faction isnt suck at bgs lol

About 10 hours per week. I'd play more, but I have a full-time career, wife, kids, and post graduate degree I'm working on.

I found that 10 hours per week was enough to grind BG and Arena honor, and do a little world PVP with friends. But it's not enough to raid. It's enough to keep me happy..... even though I'd really like to see some end game content.

Now that I'm leveling from 60-70 I'm playing more. About 3 hours a night weeknights, and maybe another 10 total on the weekend. 25 hours a week.

I'm online about 4-5 hours monday through thursday, but I rarely play much on the weekends. Friday and Saturday are GF days.

So, uh, 20 hours a week?

Let me break it down so I can add it up again...

Weeknights I try and play from about 8 - 11 (depending on shows), so 15 hours during the week minus an hour for Heroes. 14 hours. Weekends vary wildly. Some weekends I can get it 12 hours, others 2. Lets call that an average of 6! So I can generally get it 20 hours a week.

Not counting a half hour in the AH before work each morning, so honestly I'd say 23 hours (average).

During the week I play about 15 hours or so. On fridays I'll play about 5 hours LATE at night, and on saturday and sunday only about 3 hours (GF days).

I've actually been thinking alot about this recently. I've scaled way back, so currently I'm playing:

- About 9 hours total across Mon - Thurs.
- Saturday varies hugely, depending on RL. Can do marathons from morning until it's time to go out to dinner/bars or skip WoW entirely.
- Most of the day Sunday (10 hours easy)
- In total, my range is 20 - 35 hours a week, averaging somewhere in the middle.

If I only played my 70, that would be plenty of time, but alts have gotten the better of me (and now a RL buddy has started playing, so it's back to L.1). Even with the alts, that's enough time for Arena and some raiding, but my guild raids weekEND nights, which are out of the question for me these days. So on my 70 it's 2v2 Arena, occasional BGs for that last piece of Vet's armor, and just a tiny bit of farming mats for my Spellfire pieces. If I'm feeling wild and crazy I'll do the Skettis dailies b/c with an epic flier it's the easiest 20g you can make in this game.

Varies wildly on a weeknight, from not at all to 4 hours when my guild are doing an instance. Usually averages around 1 1/2 hrs though. I rarely play on a Saturday. Sunday evening is my main slot as my hubby does fantasy roleplay so I play whilst he's there, usually for about 3 hours.

So about 10-12 hours a week. Which isn't excessive, but I wish I had the inclination to spend that amount of time on my 'cello practice. I do work full time and have other interests out of work which can be time consuming.

Well, I'm still under the six month mark playing the game so I play quite a bit trying to catch up to guild members that have been playing since beta. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I play midnight to 6am. Tuesday, Thursday I play 7pm to 3am and on the weekends I sleep in to about 2pm and then play until 4-6am. So on average thats about 65 hours on average.

I'm military and all my friends and family are about 600 miles away so I just stay at home and save money so when I do return I can afford to party like a rock star.
