Gearing for PvPFollow

I hope this is a simple enough question, and I do apologize if this has been asked previously. But my question is this:

Should I compile a 2nd set of gear strictly for PvP focused on the usual AGI/STA/AP but with added emphasis on hit rating and resilience? I have considered incorporating some resilience and hit rating pieces into my current set but I would be doing so at the expense of a considerable amount of AGI, STA and AP. Is it acceptable, and even beneficial, to sacrifice a Hunter's core stats for the sake of resilience and hit rating to perform better in PvP?

I really am getting sick of being stomped into the ground by my opponents.

Yes, you should create a second set for PvP. Though wenn you start with PvP a lot of your gear will be your normal PvE gear, but over time you will collect new items which are a lot more PvP focused.

Please do not stack hit rating for PvP, it is quite useless.

PvP is about surviving will still doing some damage. Your focus should be on stamina, resilence and crit. Make sure to still have somewhat decent AP (or agi if you are SV specced), but it is not nearly as important as in PvE.

The good thing about PvP is that you get the correct gear by doing it. All those gear you can buy for honor or arena points is really good for PvP.

Try to have at least 9k HP for PvP.

Thank you Mulgrin, I shall take that to heart and get started on a PvP set right away (already have a few pieces). And that point about hit rating...I had no idea, thank you doubly for pointing that out.

To be a bit more clear on hit rating. In PvP you fight even level "mobs".
For those you need 5% to hit to never miss. So up to 5% hit chance it is nice, but not mandatory. Above 5% it is quite useless as it'll only work against def tanks or rogues who used evasion or things like that. But those situations are rather rare and you don't need to stack hit for just that.
Stack crit (and some AP) to kill stuff and stack stamina/resilence to survive longer so that you can kill stuff :-)

The Crystalforged Waraxe (with Savagery) is a good start outside of BG's ;)
And you can buy a few pieces of PvP gear with Spirit shards from Auchindoun as well as the helmet from Badges that has quite high stamina.
For the rest, its purely BG's to get the setless epics (and S1 after 2.3) and then Arena for the truly shiny gear.

god luck ;)
