Balance DowntimeFollow

Would a build like this be viable at 43 for solo leveling (mostly)

Also what would the downtime be like? Currently i'm full feral and my downtime is non-existant.

The proposed build looks fine to me. You picked up dreamstate, which will help on mana regen. I would put a point in Nature's grasp and eventually the Treants becuase both are good panic buttons if things go bad.

I switched from Feral to Moonkin at level 56, and I found I would have to sit and drink quite a lot. On a very difficult mob (e.g., elite or one a couple levels higher), I would med after the fight. On normal trash mobs around my level, I could go three or four mobs before medding again. I found cooking and first aid to be handy ways to cut down on the amount of mana I would spend healing myself because I could use both of those without changing out of Moonkin form.

Thats it? There might be a serious flaw in your spell rotation if thats as high as you can go.

By the time I hit 50 I had very little to no downtime. I could go 3 minutes before I got to 1/3 of my mana pool. At that time I would use Innervate and go on. I would soon reach 1/3 mana again. By this time I would use treants on the mob and then precede to melee it. By the time I reach 1/3 my mana for the 3rd time Innervate would be back up and the cycle would continue.

As for the OP that build is quite nice. However I would suggest taking points out of Control of Nature and perhaps put it into Moonfury. Moonfury is not that great at nd game, but its pretty decent while leveling. Once you ding 70 and if you decide you still want to go balance just respecc and get CoN back.

Indeed. An elite mob or mobs 3 levels and up can be pretty disatrous for any spellcasting class. A resisted spell is much more costly then a dodge, parry, etc.

Sounds good, but I would go a different route...

This I find is the best spec for leveling as balance, aiming for this at lvl 60 and then this
at lvl 70 for a slight pvp aspect :)

My current build is for raiding, and includes Sub (ofc) in the resto tree for that all important threat reduction... yet I still manage to over agro :P

It was tough for me at lvl 56 when I switched from feral because I had no balance gear saved up, and I was questing in Un Goro. I made a few leather pieces and bought some cheap greens on the AH to get started. Life is much better at 70, but it was painful back then.

Setai, could you please PM me or post on here what your normal spell rotation was?

Sure thing. Keep in mind this is at MAX range with Nature's Reach

Melee Mobs:

1. Starfire
2. Starfire
3. Wrath
4. Moonfire
5. Insect Swarm
6. Faerie Fire
7. Melee until DoT's wear off
8. Wrath

That should pretty much do it. Once you reach Outlands there may be a need for an extra wrath at the end, but that shouldnt mess up the rotation much if at all.

Caster Mobs:

1. Starfire until mob is at or below 10% health
2. Wrath to finish

Seems simple and you definately wont lose alot of mana, but caster mobs are our weakness and in Outlands you can lose up to 2/3 of your health. Carry some bandages to ease up the load.

Oh I see. That definately makes more sence. Sorry if I seemed a little snappy at first. My original post seemed to have a bit more bite to it then I meant it to have.

Is it just me, or were the last three links all the same?

So can anyone let me know what the downtime is going to be like at 43 with that build?
