As usual, people seeing what they want to see read too much into things...

You guys might be interested in knowing that while Serennia's GCD problem were indeed real, he refuses to give Ultimus a rematch.

I don't quite get why this travesty of idiots has been followed so closely.

Serennia lost four duels in a row when there were GCD issues and Poisons had a 130% proc rate, then made a ****** post about it. Moreover, he lost to a Prep Rogue _with all cooldowns up_ and won when the cooldowns were... down, which isn't exactly a suprise to anyone who's ever actually gone dueling as a Prep Rogue.

Serennia is a whiny, idiotic *******. The guy who beat him is widely regarded as also a whiny, idiotic *******... and this spawns about a full week of forum discussions.

What gives?

Would you?

In response to Serrenia's comments about intercept, I think shadowstep should 3 second stun. That would be awesome.

It's entertaining.

For one thing, this isn't true. I mean, you might lose to a prep rogue Rp, but thst doesn't mean top warriors (Dahis, Serennia, etc) haven't been ripping top rogue in duel for months.

At higher level of play, even people like Neilyo and Nitrana have failed to win a series of 7 against Serennia in the past. No Rogue had ever done it, prep or not.

Furthermore, he did it as shadowstep (20/0/41). No AR/Prep. He did it as possibly the worse anti-warrior build you can think of.

So this is why this is somewhat of a big deal. When someone does something that most people consider impossible, but not only that, does it in a way that is considered more difficult then the norm... people take notice.

The fact that Serennia is such a whiny, idiotic ******* with incredible arrogance and who keep talking his mouth off IS what make it funny. Had he been an humble guy who just happens to be talented and he lost... I don't think people would have cared that much.

As for Ultimus being known as an idiot - before this, I don't think anyone had ever heard of him. You might be confusing him with Ming. Essentially, it's an unknown player who from all report is a pretty easy going guy beating one of the biggest jerk of the wow community.

So... yeah. People take notice, people find it funny. And Serenni gets even madder (and create more drama, which I won't get into here since apparently the fun police is here)... it's a never ending cycle of fun :)

Good Hemo + Prep = GG, and how often are the 'top rogues' playing as Prep spec in any serious capacity? It's a dueling spec, not a serious Arena spec - or it wasn't until Hemo stopped being terrible.

*shrug* See above about 130% Proc Rate poisons, which didn't exactly hurt.

He's an idiot, but he was playing under the worst possible conditions - conditions that were fixed well before they'll ever make it to live. I'm pretty sure that Ming or one of the other idiot Rogues could have beaten him too, in a situation where a Warrior can't Overpower (or even Hamstring) and poisons autoland every single attack.

Again, it's... not much of an accomplishment. The response(s) are amusing, not the part where he lost... especially when some of the reasons for his losing weren't instantly apparent (my first thought would not be 'Damn, he had autoproc on poisons!').

What's funny is where two things come into play;
1) He got Ming'd - which is to say, he's the recognized 'Class Hero' that no Warrior gives a crap about, in the same way that Ming is the 'Rogue Class Hero' to anyone but other Rogues. This gives the loss special significance to... anyone but a Warrior, but to everyone else - zomg, teh class hero is teh defeated!
2) Again, he's an idiot, so he did his level best to make the situation worse.

Prep (and Sub) have ALWAYS been the top 1v1 spec. Most top rogue when they go on to PTR to duel, went prep.

And they got beat by top warriors.

Top Warriors DO beat prep rogues. And considering that Ultimus' win was bugged, one can only assume they still do.

Yeah, you're perfectly right. Turns out the bugged PTR turns this 'accomplishment' into not much of one at all.

The comical value of Serennia's reaction however, especially considering who he is - Class 'Hero' or not, he is (well, was) the top ranked warrior in the world - is still priceless. Even more so when you consider what that turned into for him.

despite being a warrior myself, i totally agree with this statement... it definitely seemed by all accounts that this 'Serennia' is a total douche, and i regret that the 'best' of my class is someone who doesn't seem to have any class at all.

Think he was talking about the other guy who was a Warrior (a few posts up).

Anyway, I can understand how the Warriors feel about this. I can't stand Ming, to be honest. Everyone expects me to look up to him as if he was some kind of Rogue god, and honestly, I don't give a sh*t. Yeah, he's better than me. Probably a lot better, but he does not speak for me. His strengths and shortcomings are not my own, and I'm tired of people taking anything he says to be coming from all Rogues. It's people like him that make us all look like a bunch of whiny babies.

For Warriors, they now have Serrenia. He got beaten, and now all the dumbass Rogues are coming out of the woodwork /loling at Warriors as if this really did mean something. Yeah, it's fun to watch the drama unfold (I love good forum drama), but damn, sometimes people need to give it a rest. I understand why Rogues latched onto this the way they did, as Warriors have been a thorn in our side since launch (I believe, I've only been playing for a little over a year). The "best" warrior losing to a rogue just seemed to good to be true, and people just wanted to believe that the end of the domination was over.

Guess what. It isn't.

Now, continue discussing the drama. Gives me something to read when I'm too lazy to post.

This sums up my feelings on the issue pretty well.

Heh, I read Ming's blog for the entertainment value - He's always said himself he write to get a reaction and to **** people off. That's how he got known. It's kinda funny how many smart and respectable people he's capable of getting riled up (i.e. Nooble :P)

I never quite understood why it works so much tho. He's not a rogue god and the word 'rogue hero' always make me chuckle. Heck, he's not even in any top team at the moment. He talks a lot... but doesn't accomplish much so far.

But unlike the majority of top players, he's willing to talk about the game, share his thought and views.

He does give a good vision of what end game rogue gaming is like, and like or hate him, the guy's at least somewhat talented and he has contacts with other top rogues. Watching him and the other players of WoW discuss and bicker over strategy, game changes and balance gives some really good insight.

It's not Ming that gets me riled up, it's everyone else who does take him seriously as the Rogue god.
