lolstep 2: The Revenge.Follow

So Serrenia, the top Warrior in the world, got his face kicked in in a 1v1 fight by a Shadowstep Rogue! And it wasn't fluke, the Rogue won a best of 7 series 4-0!

All I got to say is, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, this quickly prompted Serrannia to make this thread, which turned into a huge QQ thread once the rogue community got wind of it. Reading it is keeping me quite entertained at work.

High point: (Serrennia): You're right, let's give warriors +10% damage on our next attack after intercepting someone. Because you know, shadowstep is 30s cooldown (without a min range now) for 20% damage, intercept is 15s cooldown. It's only fair.

Because, of course, shadowstep is so overpowered, especially when compared to Intercept, amirite!?

Smiley: lol

For those of you curious as to how the mighty Serrennia was defeated, here's an interview with Ultimus, slayer of the overpowered class.

noting now that on the ptr, warrior was the second easiest thing to kill as my 0-20-41 anti-melee step build

before the 125% hemo, using s1 mh and not even 10k hp with only 203 resil

no finesse either, just burn a evasion and a vanish and you got warriors of average/above-average skill on farm status

deadly/wound poisons
premed step garrote ghostly strike 5pt rupture... then burn evasion and melt them down, (a quick 1pt slice n dice helps alot here) then vanish right before vanish finishes out... straight into a new garrote

by thenyou should be in dirty deeds territory by far, just pop another ghostly and toe-to-toe em

works like clockwork unless they get VERY lucky stormherald/mace mode stun procs

and even then, you can always run away or vanish into a cs... prep is there too

go burn 50g on a respec on the ptr if you wanna do it for yourself... only mace stands any chance for ms warriors, and even then only the bs maces and thats not even close to a garuntee

if i had 11k hp 400 resil with better attack stats then i got, im sure itd be 100% even vs the lucky chain-stun proc warriors

That's what makes it so funny Ken.

The guy gets beat in a 1v1 fight. He's still number 1 in every single format on the toughest battlegroup out there.

But because he lost to a rogue 1v1, Hemo and ShS are now overpowered.

TBH, the warrior is ****** who knows nothing about the game. Look at his replies on half of it, he knows nothing of other classes, and his biggest advantage in a 1v1, he knows nothing about that class.

And yet, somehow, he managed to be the best ranked player in the world.

Hehe.

Might have to do with him being a warrior.

You don't really need to know anything about the other class to hit intercept, mortal strike and hamstring until whatever you're fighting is dead - throw in Whirlwind when you got excess rage and Berseker rage if you got feared/gouged and you're in business.

But that's probably just me being mean to warriors again =D

Rogue Class Hero

Or, you know... not.

EDIT: Hitting people, and then when you've hit them a few times hitting a different button is hard.

The interview with Ultimus reminded me why its going to be good to have on-hand spec view after 2.3

You guys really need to read the article more closely, Serrenia did lose his cool and made the situation really not in his favor, however, one (or two) thing to note:

GCD was ******** Serrenia over, meaning he couldn't Hamstring/Overpower effectively, this was tested immediately by him and another Rogue in the area of the duel after the first few duels.

Poisons was on pretty much autoproc.

Its an inconclusive example at best, and Ultimus did lose to Serrenia when his Prep was down, which is how its always been for Warriors vs. Sub. Rogues, and all of the PTR cons affect a Warrior typically more especially when facing skilled Sub. Rogues. This post once again is just to remind all the not so smart/careful kiddies playing Rogues out there that this was by no means an accurate example of the current Sub. Rogue vs. Warrior fight.

this just in; 1v1 class excels at 1v1. more at 11.

saw someone post that in regards to this. it takes quite a few cools, and one major cool, for a rogue to do this, and its only really 1v1 applicable. i see no problem here, altho serennia is acting rather....ming-ish.

A rogue beats a warrior 1v1 on a test realm... by using every cooldown possible and a ridiculously complicated pattern of attacks, stealths, and heals.... with the warrior's GCD bugged and poisons bugged...

Yes, it is obvious to me warriors need a buff and rogues are OP broken.

I had to take a break from reading what he did to keep my head from exploding. That is the most insane strategy ever.

The ppl on the blog pretty much said whats to be said... If you want to kill a warrior like that it can only be in a duel. Also the stuff to be done is pretty much ridicoulus (i guess i ****** up that spelling but u know what i mean :P). So yea... It's not too realistic. I never doubted the fact that a rogue with 2x cooldowns could beat a warrior in a DUEL in which he's allowed to blow EVERYTHING... TWICE.
