Here is the link to my warrior. Its my first one so Im sure the build is off.

Im curious as to what the other warrior players think. Im having difficulty doing even the begining quests in Outland without help.

Any ideas on gear switch or point placement?

Thanks to all.

Wheeew. This is going to be like a Kitchen Nightmares or Pimp my Ride show.

Equipment:
**At level 60, you have to seperate your DPS and Tanking gear.

You're gear, no offense... is a bit outdated (20 levels??)
-lv47 neck
-lv40 boots (BoE epic, nice, but very replacable by now) <---that's why I'd sooner sell those than equip them... just money out the window).
-gloves
-ranged weapon

Quest in the Outland (Hellsfire), you'll get a nice set of DPS stuff as a starter kit. Then just build from there. *also look for items in the AH. Don't go overboard spending, but "...of the champion" will be a nice starter tanking set for Ramps, Slaver Pens etc.

I'd suggest for max DPS, change the slower (more base damage) weapon to your main hand, and the fast (lower base damage) on your off hand to collect quick TP.

Heavier, slower weapon on the main hand will improve your damage on Heroic strikes and other weapon attacks.

Talent wise... check the Warrior FAQ setion. I'd suggest a bit of work.

Some quick comments I have:

Better gear in general. Search the AH for Outland greens "of the Beast" or "of the Bandit" (good old "of the Bear" works too). Some of your gear's almost 20 levels outdated. Outland greens are much heavier in stamina than Azeroth stuff, so that will help a lot, and you can score some pieces for 5-10 gold or less.

Switch your main hand and offhand weapons. Your offhand has much higher average damage (for bigger Whirlwinds) and is higher DPS (offhand gets a damage penalty so you get more DPS putting your higher DPS weapon in mainhand).

Your spec needs some help. Imp Rend is worthless. Booming Voice and Imp Demo Shout aren't worthless, but not that hot for leveling. Imp Cleave is almost worthless. You'd get way more mileage with 1 or 2 points in Imp WW, 5/5 Imp Zerker Stance, and Rampage.

I mention Gyfford as a resident warrior and he is the first to respond. I think an "I told you so" is in order here. Smiley: grin

I would love for you to take a look at my warrior on the armory when you get a chance Gyff. I have been stacking agility lately and have been quite impressed with my crit chance and efforts in PVP. I have a lot of plate gear stored up for when I hit 40, but my main question is, "am I sacrificing too much STR and STA for agility"? I know it doesn't matter much in the lowbie levels but this trend will likely continue into end game for me (as far as agility > STR and STA). I guess I should mention that my focus for end game will be prot as I have a static priest partner that will serve as my own personal healbot. We even BG together making for a lethal killing machine.

Armory Clicky!

Thanks Pie man!

Thanks alot for all the information. I dont take offense to anything because this is my first warrior and i want to make him good.

I switched weapons like you mentioned and I cant believe the difference just doing that made. Im gonna replace my low lvl gear asap. Im on a dead server so AH replacements take awhile to find. Im appreciative of all the input. Please feel free to keep t comming. Thanks again.

Is the leveling build I would use (note you have one point to put where you want, imp WW is nice) just keep rampage/battle shout up and theres a good AP bonus there

Now the gear.... first of you could wear a lvl10 cape of the eagle and it would help more, get a nice of the bear/tiger/bandit/soldier cape off the AH if you can.
Also, swap those weapons over. Rule of thumb that I've been told (untill 2.3 comes out so people can test slow MH/OH for WW) slow MH for harder auto attacks and heroic strikes, fast OH for rage gen.
Those are the immidiate ones that jump out at me, yea your belt/gloves/neck need upgrades but that will come with the quests.

Now i bet you've heard the phrase "warriors scale with gear" before, until you get a full set of outlands gear you probebly are going to need help. I suggest you find some kind of healing class (dosent need to be holy/resto) and quest through hellfire peninsula (SP?) with them, after that it gets easier.

Oh and if you can you may want to try getting som +hit, miss streaks suck and when that pesky mob is on 1% health and you constantly miss 'till you die it sucks, trust me I've been there :P

(PS: I'm in a hurry so I apologise for spelling :P )

MrsGemini thanks for the kind words Smiley: blush

I still have a loooooooong way to go to be come "knowledgeable" for Warrior class lol, I still need to run Heroics, Kara, etc. Everything I know has been written before Smiley: wink, ah the 'curse' of being stuck behind a computer 8 hours a day at work. Also, if you checked out my threads on quitting until 2.3 you'll get a good laugh... I did not at the time, but in retrospect it's funny.

I went the 'take and block as much damage' route (str/stam) all the way. Agility was something that I got when the item has str/stam/and agi on it. So I'm not real sure how to judge a Agi/Stam build.

Agi, slightly more armor, better dodge (I've read), higher % crits. All and all I don't see anything wrong with that build for soloing, and any gear set up with Stamina would work for pre-outland tanking.

However... Some of the gear is getting 10+ levels in usage. May just want to check on some of those slots. The bottom ring could prolly be replaced, I'd keep the truesilver one until you run by a replacement.

Talent wise.. I never liked the options for PvE on the Arms chain. MS just does not do it for me. I want the Rampage and +attack moves more than hurting someones healing lol.

I got out of Arms and never returned (I don't PvP a lot).

Fury:
-Bloodthirst: Free HP while fighting (you being undead can cannablize), I can't graze for food... 1st cow I've ever seen not be able to.

-Imp. Slam: I've always gone the DW Warrior route, never got Imp. Slam, but everyone I've read, says that's the DPS money maker. It's all about timing.

-Flurry: After a crit, which as Agi you'll be right at home.

-Enrage: after you get a crit against you.

All and all I just perfer the Fury chain for my DPS even when not DW. Maybe a Arms Warrior could share the benifits of that chain.

All and all, I know you know what to do in WoW (my advice is more towards the newer players) "Corrupt thier minds while they're young" type of thing Muahahahahahahah

Anyway hope some of that babbeling brook helped.

*P.S. I'm not sure which would benifit more for your 2H weapon. You might want to look into getting someone to make you some Counterweights ( [wowitem=6043]Iron Counterweight[/wowitem]). 1 Counterweight will put Haste on it for good. Really easy to get mats so they should not cost much at all. *Might help until you get some big money enchants on the weapon (don't waste your money on enchants until later). Speaking of which I need to get those also Smiley: cry I'll never get my Epic mount

I know my chest piece, my hands, and my feet are getting a little outdated but I haven't found anything as far as drops go to warramt replacing them yet. I literally have not come across anything better, especially in the chest area. That shining silver breastplate was the best 9g I ever spent (came with +50 health enchant). I will be starting pretty much from scratch anyway when I hit 40 and get plate so for not really trying to gear up I think I did purty good. It sucks because I am a static partner and can't level or run instances for gear w/o my teammate so that means no multiple runs for gear for me Smiley: cry

I might consider switching to Fury after I hit 40 just to see if I like the build. I heard Flurry is great and it seems to fit my play style. I am a run and gun kind of gal.

So all in all I am doing much better on my warrior than any other toon so far and I look forward to seeing what she can do in end game. More so than my druid *chuckle*.

Edit: I will put a counterweight on my axe as soon as I get home as I have a friend who can make them, I just forgot they even exist. Smiley: laugh I am always afraid to do enchants because I know I won't get my money's worth until a much higher level or at twink status. As far as enchants, Savagery is currently the best melee enchant right? or is it crusader?

You know.. I was not even thinking. Hectic day at work.

Never mind about the gear upgrade. Next level (lv40) dumdumdumDA!!! Plate time. Just try to AH grab as much Plate stuff as you can. It took me about a week thanks to last minute shopping on Plate stuff. It's never in the AH, or it's the stuff I don't want "... of the boar" etc.

Not sure how many bars you are from 40... but HURRY start looking now =P

Mongoose, but it's horridly expensive. Savagery is a little more DPS than Crusader, but Crusader also procs a heal.

Yeah I have a little healbot partner though so Savagery will probably be the way to go. Oh and by the way Gyfford, I added an iron counterweight to my Whirlwind axe and I am already seeing a difference in battleground as far as the speed of kills. Thanks for the suggestion.

Halfway to 40 now. I have a helm, bracers, hands, and feet already purchased or sent to me via guildies for when I hit the big 40. I still need a chest piece and legs though and those are proving harder to find for sure.

Can anyone recommend maybe some BS stuff thats not BOA or has a BS requirement. I have a few BS friends who can make it for me most likely. I have never leveled BS so I have no idea what can even be made. 5 of my toons are miners so I am rolling in ore.

Blacksmithing List

Look about skill 210 for the 1st legs, 205 for the 1st shoulders?

The only thing I hate about BS'ing is the qty of bars you need for some of the items. Smiley: smile

I like the Ornate Mithril Pants. I think I'll shoot for those for sure. I have a ton of Mithril and can smelt it on my main. Should be relatively cheap or no cost at all for me. Thanks for linking that list. Sometimes I forget the resources we have here at Alla.

Since you are still giving advice in this thread,GYF, the Fel Iron Set is in my AH for about 6g a piece, would this be a decent set for leveling/tanking? or should i just get quested items and some of the champion for tanking.

What I always do.. again, becuase I got the time durning the day in between answering phones, is check here:
Alla Advanced Item serch
In this one I filled out the fields for:
-Plate (armor)
-Head (slot)
-Level [min]60 [max]63

It looks like in this case you can quest for a good helmet
dps'ing [wowitem=27715]Circle's Stalwart Helmet[/wowitem]

When I'm bored at home, I look up things like that too per slot to make sure I don't miss anything easy.

I also look here for instance drops I may want:Wowwiki instance guides Just click on the bosses name and scroll down

When I hit Outland at level 60, I was wearing really outdated gear. I had a lot of trouble at first until I got a few quest rewards and those pieces of gear made a huge difference. I was even wearing Pally plate quest rewards simply because the usable stats were still way better than the low 50s stuff I had been wearing. Most of my gear was heavy stamina anyways but it was taking me twice as long to kill a 58 in Outland and I was having to eat after every fight which I never had to do in Azeroth while killing 60s.

It gets better. I could tell the difference after one or two quest reward upgrades.

I'm not going to comment on talents as the only tree I'm really familiar with is Protection and even in that tree I'm still learning stuff.

I thought it was a great set. The Adamantite stuff for the mid-60s is good too though I wish there were more pieces to it. 6g a piece sounds good to me for the Fel Iron stuff. I wouldn't spend a whole lot on upgrades though as the quest rewards mostly cover all your needs by the time you are 65 or so.

As for the level 40 plate thing, I had most of mine before I hit 40. I made what I could through my Blacksmithing and purchased the other few items when I found them 'cheap' in the AH. I seem to remember wearing the Heavy Mithril stuff as I was duoing a lot with my boyfriend's Shaman who pulled aggro off me like crazy and was dipping heavy into the Prot tree to be able to keep aggro off him.
