Holy Paladin Gear... Where do I begin?Follow

I'm a level 70 Holy Paladin. Here is my gear so far:

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Bronzebeard&n=Marrius

I've already started the quest for my keys to Kara. But before I get into Kara, what instances should I go into to get better gear?

BTW, I do have a set of plate armor that has a bunch of Healing bonuses. But they're mostly greens.

Please help.

Cheers,

I found that whenever I'm hanging out in the cities and I see another pally, I usually "check them out" and see what gear they got. If it's something good, I just use the armory to look up where I can get it. After awhile, you build up a wishlist and run the instances/quests to acquire them. Good luck!

You need +1000 heal minimum. +1100 recommended. Spellcrit should be respectable too, if you are at 15% with holy you are low on spell crit.

Honor Hold Rep revered has the +healing head enchant so you will want to work on that. The mace off final boss in their is also better than the essence focuser in that it actually has stats.

Steamvaults will have your plate helm which is the best you will get until you get t4 out of Karazhan.

Work on Sha'tar rep since it has the exalted healing mace, also heroic mech is a great run for badges once you are geared enough to heal it.

Cloth, Leather, Mail whatever has the best healing stats for you take it. You don't need plate as a healer unless you are in BG's and Arena. Get a full set of dungeon blues if you can, reach the +1000 heals, get your stuff enchanted and be ready to use consumables and you will be raid ready.

Edit - Also get the Blessed Book of Nagrand from the quest in Nagrand, best libram until you get the one off opera event in karazhan.

after 40 runs in Steamvaults and no helm i gave up
I went after the badge helm ugly but good stats
I don't think i'll be replacing it with teir 4
actually i find the normal epic kara drops to be better than the teir 4
the set bonus also seems to be a joke i'm way too busy spam healing a tank to waste the time and judge the boss.
the same thing happened with the chest peice in Shadowlabs
i bought Earthpeace Breastplate
then waited on kara gear

the best advice i can give is run everything right now there are good healing peices in them all
get exalted with shatar and buy the mace
get revered with Honor hold nice head enchant
and aldor and scryers have good shoulder enchants starts at honored easy to get
also light's grace and Sanctified light are amazing talents that should be taken
i know way too many paladins that won't use a holy light or a downranked holy light to save mana. those 2 skills will help a ton when your forced to spam holy light to keep the group up

I hate that chest piece.

OK it's a great chest if you're a healer but it's tarnished for me now. I had a hunter in my SH group the other night wearing it... Smiley: banghead

You can also work on ur vet's set from doing Bg's. And if you'd like you could get the crafted epic Hand of eternity.

Stop pimping that mace, its a horrible horrible waste of money which can quickly be replaced.

Not arguing with you, asking strictly for information - what would you replace it with?

Sha'tar mace is a fraction of the price and its better imo. There is also a blue mace from shattered halls and mech that can hold you over until you get one from kara. Personally I used the sha'tar mace all the way from when my guild was progressing in kara until I got the healing mace from mount hyjal, but then again the kara mace never dropped for me.

I'm not Jack, but I'll try to answer your question anyway.

Yeah, it's a nice mace to be sure. It just isn't worth what you pay. 8 Primal Mights + 4 Nethers is roughly 1000g worth of mats. That's not including the cost of the Khorium and Eternium bars, but the cost of those will probably be negligible compared to those 8 Mights.

INSTEAD

You could get the healing mace from normal Shattered Halls. Let's compare the stats

Hand of Eternity
+20 INT
7 mp/5
+317 healing

Lightsworn Hammer
+12 STA
+11 INT
8mp/5
+227 healing

One is free, the other is 1000g worth of mats or about 2000g to buy from the AH. Both will be replaced with Shard of the Virtuous which drops off Maiden, the third boss in Kara, or if you're lucky, Prince, who drops Light's Justice.

Not into raiding? Cool. Go run Heroic SLabs for a mace that is just as good as as Hand of Eternity. The only difference? It's free. Or maybe you're not ready for Heroic SLabs yet? Grind out Sha'tar rep. Get the exalted healing mace for only 200g (I think?) that, again, is just as good as Hand of Eternity.

That's why it's not worth it.

The season 1 mace is +375 healing and will be available for 25200 honor points in less than 2 weeks. Slap on a +81 healing enchant and don't look back, at least not for a long while. I won't even have much interest in Prince's mace, its not that much better, and he's been a PITA to kill.
