kara tank needs helpFollow

#1 Nov 05 2007 at 7:31 AM Rating: Decent
hi i rly need help for my tanking..i tank solo mobs and bosses fine, but i have a huge problem keeping aggro on multiple mobs, esp in heroics.
if i have 2 mobs i'll try to dump sunder/shield slam/revenge on main target, befor switching over to second target..but alot of times when i have 3 or more mobs i find it very hard to push my aggro fast, esp when the healer is healing me, and the 2nd or 3rd mob rushes to the healer....or the dpser...

is dere a tactic or method i shld try out?

thanks in advance

It is HARD to multitank 3 mobs, especially when your group is dishing out alot of DPS. Let them know that they CAN'T nuke them with all they got. tell them "Nice and steady DPS, or they will kill you". Also make them pay attention to the ThreathMeter.

tclap should hold healer aggro, so when you run in, just make sure tclap is never off CD and demo shout off the bat. make sure there is NO split dps and you should be fine.

I agree with russki. TClap will hold the healing aggro as long as you use it every time it's up. Your focus and the focus of all of the DPS needs to be on the main target.

i like to ask the group to lay off for a few secs so i can get at least 3 sunders on all targets, then i tab target and revenge and shield slam.

Warriors are not meant to be AoE tanks. Spreading your threat equally amongst all targets is only going to slow you and your DPS down. Trying to do this isn't going to allow your DPS to AoE, so what's the point? You seriously want your group to wait 20 seconds while you build up some threat on every target in the pull? In a heroic, you'll be dead or your healer will be OOM before the DPS even starts. The DPS should be focused on the main target, followed by the kill sequence that you outline. You should be pumping all your threat onto the current target so that they can DPS as fast as possible, using TClap to hold the aggro off the healer.

If thunderclap doesnt hold them and you have it 3/3 improved, let the dps die and hopefully they will learn to assist the tank. When 5/5 people on the party work together it goes so smooth.

Thank you for that information.

If you are gonna CC one, make sure you tank the rest away from the sheeped/sapped/etc one, target the primary kill, use shield slam and revenge when they are up, and spam thunderclap and Cleave when they arent, that should keep the targets on you if the dps'er only nukes your main target.

EDIT: And dont bother using sunders on the other targets, it will take too long and the dps will draw aggro too ast on the other targets.
