Kick-Am I missing something?Follow

Last night our rogue twins were killing Bristlebark piggies in Barrens, I was using Kick on every caster mob, but not once I saw its spell being stoped, and it went on casting spells after that too.
My battle log showed something like: Your Kick did xx damage to Bristlebark. No mentioning of a failed stop-cast.

Is there something I´m missing? Smiley: frown

First, kick should be stopping the casts, but if you are timing your kick at the tale end of the spell it will usually not interrupt the cast in time. You should try to time your kicks earlier as this should fix the problem. Most failed interrupts with kick are due to poor timing 9/10 times.

Secondly, I do not think that the stop cast will be mentioned in the combat log. It may and I simply have never noticed, but I'm fairly confident it is not recorded.

Thirdly, unless you have Improved Kick then the caster will only be unable to cast spells within the same school. He won't be totally silenced. For instance, if you kick a mage channeling arcane missiles, and you don't have improved kick, then he can still cast a fire or frost spell because arcane missiles is a spell from the arcane school of magic.

I hope that clears up some confusion.

turn on the enemy cast bar option in interface

whenever you see him cast a spell (ie: frostbolt, renew, summon water elemental, dark mending, whatever lol) thats when you kick

youll see the cast bar disappear, and for the next 5 seconds, you wont see any spells from that school of magic (ie: you kick a priest channeling mind flay, he cant use shadow word pain either since shadow is banned for 5 seconds)

thats the easiest way to use kick, turning on the cast bars gives you a timer bar you hafta kick by, or else youll miss the chance.... and youll easily see if you hit it or not

thats my advice for ya

and good to see a bleach avatar, but thats hardly one of those awesome arrancars at all hehe

I have that actually, but last night my lag played me some tricks and apparently the Kick issue was one of them.
