Using PvP healing gear in PvEFollow

How acceptable is this? Im certain there is some stat on the Arena gear that is lacking from PvE gear, like hit rating on rogue gear.

What would that stat be? I would like to get my druid some decent pre-kara gear.

I'm going to compare the druid merciless gladiator's refuge (arena S2) to the nordrassil raiment(tier 5). The item level on the arena gear is 136, while the item level on the raid gear is 133, but both are close to each other, both are epic healing gear, and both use the same 5 slots.

Arena:
1964 Armor
228 Stam
158 Int
376 Healing
127 Damage (In patch 2.3)
128 Resilience
37 MP5
1 Meta, 3 Red, 3 Yellow Sockets

Raid:
1703 Armor (-261)
165 Stam (-63)
151 Int (-7)
461 Healing (+85)
156 Damage (+29)
34 MP5 (-3)
1 Meta, 1 Yellow, 6 Blue Sockets

In the raid gear, you get 1 more socket for gems, and if you match the gems you get +healing and +mp5 instead of resilience. Also, while some of the stats are lower, that is due to a lower item level. However, if you get all of the arena items, it appears to me you will have slightly less +healing than in raid gear...but then again I'm comparing that to T5. You'd be more than ready for kara, and could probably handle a good deal of anything up through SSC and The Eye. Granted I'm not into those raids yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if the only thing you'd really need to replace that with is T6 gear and equivilants.

I should also note that my friend and I are playing the 39 BG's on some of our alts to get gear for PvE. He's choosing a level 28 ring from there that he's still going to use at 40 for healing. So yes, I would say it's perfectly acceptable.

The stat that you'd miss using PVP gear is spirit. As for how acceptable it is, I personally started Kara wearing a lot of it and I didn't have too many problems. I still use the veteran's bracers and the arena shoulders for PVE. As long as you realize it's not meant for PVE, and take PVE upgrades when you can, I think you'll do fine.

When season 3 starts the gear will be probably the best in the game for raid healing, next to T6 of course, and while I have some issues with this I won't get into them here.

On my Pally I got the 3 Veteran pieces and wanted the necklace and rings but lost patience cause I got tired of BG's hella fast. I also got the shoulders and gloves of S1, not S2.

I did a Kara run this past weekend and took the PvE upgrades as they are indeed more suited. I'd expect the same would be true for a Druid. In my case, because of stats budget on gear, Mp5 disappeared to make place for the Resilience. I suppose that, indeed, Spirit is what's missing for a Druid.

It's pretty decent to get started, but get those Kara equivalent/upgrades ASAP.

For healing the Arena/PvP gear is pretty damn good. But the feral stuff is fantastic for tanking in particular. It focuses on Armor, Stamina & Resilience which are all nice tanking stats. Resilience means you can free up Defense and put more Agi on your gear more.

I personally find it a bit annoying that someone who spends 30mins a week in an ordinary arena team can have better gear than myself who has raided 3 nights a week for months as well as spent so much time farming mats & gold for pots & repair bills. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy raiding, but you can only do Karazhan for so long before you start getting a little sick of it (bring on Zul'Aman). It would be nice if they maybe made the bosses drop an extra piece of loot each time. Then again, the addition of the Badges of Justice in the next patch will make a bit of a difference as well.

Agreed. I suppose ChoMeric was referring to the same "issues" with the ease of acquiring Arena gear. It doesn't help that they're constantly adding new Season sets.

One thing I like in games is seeing my gear get better piece by piece, either with a drop, a new enchant, anything. And most of the time I just do not expect it, so it makes it all the better. But with Arena gear I could just calculate how many weeks I need for piece of gear X and just wait it out, play the games I need to play, and that's it. It's kinda boring and I, too, find it somewhat unfair for a raider who invested time and gold to be surpassed so easily.

For once, I can't think of a way to avoid this issue except if Blizz stopped making arena gear at all...
