I'm currently in front of a difficult choice. I have 5000 arena points saved up for the season 3, i'm feral, with only the s2 shoulders and the 3 pvp battleground pieces, and i have a 2vs2 arena team with 1600 rating, that give me 350 arena points per week. As we don't know when the s3 begins actually, what should i do ? Spend 3750 points now to not waste weeks of arena until the s3 starts, and buy the s2 weapon (i have the terestian stranglestaff actually for dps), as i don't want to buy something else since the s3 gear will be very good and better than the s2 one ? I'll have 1250 points left, and i think that i'll have the time to save 1800 points to buy the s3 chest. Or should i keep these 5000 points to buy the chest, the helm and the hands when the s3 begins, that will allow me to have the 4 pieces bonus, a lot of resilience, and finally be better geared to start the new season and try to buy as soon as i can the s2 weapon or even the s3 one if i reach 1850 rating ?

An armory link would be nice so we could compare your gear with s2. As I figure the difference between s2 and s3 is not ground breaking and probally will not improve your gameplay drastically. If s2 is a nice upgrade from what you have now it will help get the Arena rating you want. Gotta spend points to make points, eh?
I remember reading somewhere that arena S3 may not correspond with patch 2.3. This could mean that S3 will start pre-patch, that S3 will start post-patch, or that (since it said "MAY not") S3 will start when the patch comes out.
Chances are it will be a while before S3 starts, and if you get 350 points per week, you should have 1800 points in 6 weeks...of course you can always do a bit more and get the chest piece a bit late.
I'd recommend getting it now, although idk how big of an upgrade it is for you.

The season 3 weapon will require you to have a personal arena rating of 1850 to buy it so unless you are very good with your arena (a fair bit better than 1600) you are better off getting the S2 weapon now or waiting till the S3 starts and buying it a bit cheaper.
The S3 arena shoulders will require a personal rating of 2000!! So grab the S2 weapon & shoulders then grab the S3 stuff for the rest.

For my gear, it's ssc/tk level, but i still have the heavy clefthoof chest for my tank gear, so the s2 chest will be better, but i prefer to wait for the s3 one as it will be better. It's the only piece of arena gear that will help me a lot in pve. So i have 3 options, buy the s2 weapons, buy the s2 shoulders for a possible respec to restau to enter in a very good arena team as ferals has difficulties in arena, or keep my 5k arena points to buy 3 pieces of feral season 3 gear.
