What goes on there, I've talked to the aether-tech but never been there at the right time. Are there quests besides the vendors, and also one guy said he made 1000g from farming the place for one day... Also the vendor pots that are sold, are they realy worth putting on AH? Whats the point of it, do Gruuls people buy it or something.

What goes there is an event that requires a whole raid to be finished, I tried it once with group of 5 for fun but we didnt manage very long.
As far as farming goes, yeah I could have made 1500g with enchant formula that dropped for my lock one day, but I rather gave it to a friend :p
Some drops seem to be most common though, I got few nice blues and even purples in few weeks of farming, lot of cloth drops and mana motes, plus ethereum prison keys.

The unstable potions are usable in Gruul's Lair. I've seen them on the AH, but I can't say how well they sell. As for making 1000G in one days farming, perhaps with a few lucky blue/purple drops, but not very likely.
Running the Ogre'la and Skyguard quests can net about 70+ golds per day though, and that's just from the quest payoffs not including any drops or gathered loot.
