Hey everyone i just switched to enhancement and i know nothing about enhancement. the main thing i want to know is what weapon buffs to put on my weapons. i will be using a 2 hander with windfury for pvp and duel wield every now and then but since the 3 second cd on windfury i was thinking of putting a windfury on main hand and rockbiter on off hand for duel wielding, is this the best way to go or should i windfury both of them?

i don't know the maths but a lot of shamans say having two 2.60 speed weapons with wf on both work well

The "math" isn't so much a exact #, but more of a mind set and a concept. In a perfect shaman world (of warcraft), 1 handed weapons would have a delay of 3.0-ish so that you can optimis DW WF from when you first get DW all the way to 70!

The reality of the fact is there really isn't any 1h weapon that has delay of 3.0 @ 70 and moving thru the ranks, its more than likely "better" weapons come along that don't always have the delays your looking for.

While your goal is "slow" for both weapons (I go for the slowest possible in MH first), sometimes straight up higher dps weapons like a dagger or fist weapon comes along. I mean, what idiot is going to pass up something like a Epic 95 dps dagger with a delay of 1.30, just because your uncommon 50dps mace with a delay of 2.50 in your OH has a higher delay O_0...if its being offered to you!! DUH!

Since you already know of the 3sec CD on WF, I wont go into detail about why you wont be putting WF on both weapons, if there is a conciderable difference in delays (exp: MH 2.70, OH 1.50). In instances like this, then yes it is prefered that you WF MH and use something else for OH.

Now I could go into detail on which of the other weapon buffs is preferably for various situations, but after much personal trail and error the difference are negligiable...I'll just say don't do something stupid like Flametongue when fighting a Fire elemental, or Frost when fighting a water elem :p

Just a closing note...Your goal is finding 2 slow weapons and putting WF on both. This is the most you can maximize your dps as a DW shaman. This being said, your never really going to hear any shaman especially on these boreds validate anything else, BUT there is one fact of game dynamics that you NEED to address that no one ever really mentions.

The 2 biggest modification you can make to maximize your dps is;
#1- GET A GOOD TANK!
#2- a upright shaman always does more dmg than a dead one!

Enh shaman's have no hate dump or management. Your cap to your maximum dps output directly relates to the hate keeping abilities of your tank mostly. Yes, situationally buffs like Bless of Salv. and very occational being able to effectively us a Tranq. tot in a raid setup. (Completely useless as a Enh in a 5man party setup tho). While DW WF can "maximize" your DPS, if its too much for your tank to take (which raid quality mobs and heroic instances, you'll quickly notice that mail is basically treated like cloth armor) in order to "better" your dps, you might have to "downgrade" to something like 2 fast weapons...in order to curve down your spike outputs and smooth your threat production.

Your tank will thank you and if your anything like me and most "good" shaman, your typically carrying 2-3 sets of armors for different situations. Which means every time you die in PvE @ lv 70, it can cost upwards of 3-5g a death. A "bad" day @ Kara or Gruul can cost 40g's easy! So you'll thank me for saving you a few avoidable dirt naps for "maximizing" your dps.
