I've read the stickies numerous times so I'm sure they haven't been answered. I leveled a warlock to 70 so I know the game mechanisms. I'm just tired of the idiots on my server so I wanted to reroll. Into alliance as a paladin tank:

First question: It's not really about which race to choose. I'm just having a hard time deciding. The question is this, how useful is the Dwarven racial Stoneform, from experience in a tank's point of view. Right now I can't choose between human and dwarf and I'm trying to use that as the tie breaker.

Second question: Should I choose Aldor or Scryer. I've looked at their rep and quest rewards and I've picked out the things I find useful on both factions:

Aldor:

Lightwerden's Girdle

Vindicator's Hauberk

Scryer:

Thalodien's Charm

Gauntlets of the Chosen

Seer's Signet

I think Aldor wins in shoulder enchants, so I'm not going to post it. Wowwiki said that 60% of tank paladins choose Aldor. From what I listed they are more or less than same, if not Scryer may slight advantage.

Third Question: I want to tank raids and I know of the 102.4% rule. I'm planning to use the tanking goggles from engineering and Libram of Repentance, both requires access to heroics. Do you have to be uncrushable to be able to tank heroics?

The questions might be a mouthful, I didn't want to start new threads and I don't think they've been answered in the last 2 pages I've browsed through.

Thanks for the help in advance.

For tanking, the stoneform is useful for removing bleed effects. That will help you more than the human racials. You just have to look at a smelly dwarf all day. In the end, just choose the one you want, the racials don't really matter all that much, and their effects are marginal.

Aldor vs. Scryer, it doesn't really matter. None of the items you can get can't be replaced with other items in normal 70 instances.

Tanking heroics you don't have to be uncrushable. Well actually... you already are uncrushable going into heroics because there is no mob in heroics that can actually crush you, mobs have to be a least 3 levels higher than you to crush you, but even heroics the highest they go is lvl 72. However, you should be uncrittable by that point.

Scryer or Aldor choice should come down to your profession. which side has recipes/plans/whatever that you want, as thats the only place you can get those.

all the gear has the potential to be replace, and most of it rather easily if you know where to look.

Well as far as plans go, I don't think there are any for engineering. As far as the equipment goes, I suppose I'm just lazy and trying to take the quickest route :P

There are only 2 engineering rep recipes in OL, from the Cenarion Expedition and the Consortium respectively, so don't worry about that.
