enchants for hunterFollow

#1 Nov 04 2007 at 7:47 AM Rating: Decent
So i would like to ask what enchants hunters get for pvp. My guild mates tell different things to get like +15 agility to weapons or strength. I would just like to know what other hunters choose and why.

well pvp isnt my thing but i would asume its basicly the same, maybe just change afew of the agi enchants to stamina if you lack hp.

prob the cat refelxes enchants for the inc runspreed aswell

definatly no strength enchants tho, what would be the point of that?

For PvP, I would recommend getting agility over AP (while for PvE it's the opposite), simply because Agi adds to your dodge as well, which can help against those pesky melee classes when you have to joust.

I would also recommend getting more stamina than you would normally need for PvE, and to make sure ALL your armor is mail (while in PvE some leather has better stats - in fact I used leather shoulders on my warrior in the high 30's - you WANT the survivability in PvE).

It all depends. I'll assume that you're level 70.

Agility will boost your Armor, dodge, attack power and crit rating. Clearly a better choice for PvP than AP, which only raises your raw power. Burst damage is sometimes more important than sustained DPS.

If you're low on HP, meaning under 9k, stamina would be a great choice, too. For every 1 point of stamina, you'll get about an extra 10HP (little more with survivalist)

edit: Strength does NOTHING for hunters. In fact, the only classes that really get anything out of strength are warriors and pallies. Strength increases MELEE attack power and block rating with a shield.

well no im not a lvl 70 but I do spend most of my time pvping. I am a lvl 49 and have some extra money about 180g to spend and would just like to upgrade my guy a little more with some enchants. So i guess from the responses i need to get agility and stamina enchants. If anyone has anymore suggestions it would be well accepted and if it helps at all i am mm build.

I'd save your gold for when you get higher... Unless you're planning on staying at 49 and doing PVP for for a while, other then that you're just wasting your money on enchants for gear that you'll replace in 2-3 levels.

If you want a quick and effective boost now, the only enchants i'd get are +ap to gloves and bracers and +30 sta/+10 agi on legs.
Because you can probably get all those for around 30g total and its an insane inprovement.
Other then that, enchants get a lot more expensive very fast.

Sav (70Ap) on 2handed Weapon cost me 120gold without mats, he had them all..

I thought that was cheap, would of cost me around 250/300 gold to get the mats...

If you look on my character in my sig (The 70 hunter) the enchants i have on most of my items are the ones you need to aim for basically... obviously money wise, if you are lacking then they can wait till after Kara/Grul's

Do not ever get Str enchants for hunter, you'll be laughed at and called a huntard! I'm not joking. We don't need str.

Agi enchants are usually best, although slight speed increase on boots can help in pvp (you'd think hunters wouldn't need this, because we get cheetah - but in bg we often have to turn cheetah off so we don't get dazed). Boar Speed enchant is worth looking at.

If you're going to park at 49 a few months to bg - buy a few sensible enchants, maybe. The one that makes the most sense is Clefthide kit on the pants. You'll need to get the best set of BoE pants you can find and get a lvl 60+ you trust to apply the kit (it's like 30 sta and 10 agi - or something - look it up). The kit CAN'T be applied like an enchant in the "not to be traded" slot of the trade window.

If I were you, honestly, I'd save your money. If you plan on leveling up to seventy, you're going to need, what, about 600g to buy your epic mount. Then 900g or so to buy the low level flying mount. Since 180g is 30% of your epic land mount's cost (i.e. a major chunk of it, already attained), it's nothing to sneeze it. Believe me, you'll wish you hadn't blown it on enchants when you level up.

(edit, oh, sometimes players offer free or near-free enchants just so they can get skill ups - often not the "best" - but still pretty decent. Plus stamina enchants are also worthwhile for hunters - go for agi, stam and maybe run speed enchants -- oh, some hunters get Mongoose, thinking it'll be major for them, cuz it grants a huge agi increase - but don't casually buy it - it's expensive, and I think it only procs in melee (which you should not be doing) - not at range - at least look this up before buying it and be SURE - but i'm 95% sure it's a Rogue enchant and not a hunter enchant - again, look it up and be sure it does what you think it does before shelling out huge money for it)
