I was wondering when you guys use your combo points on an enemy.
Do you just wait when you have all five and then launch a finishing move? or do you use your finishing move when you have 3 or 4 CP?

Talents which affect this are :

Ruthlessness:
Gives your finishing moves a 20% chance to add a combo point to a target

Relentless strikes:
Your finishing moves have a 20% chance per combo point to restore 25 energy

Considering the fact that Ruthlessness has always a 20% chance to add 1 CP to the target, no matter how much CP you have.

A nice example for this is, a fleeing enemy which i have only ONE CP on, ill mostly use Deadly throw to slow him down. Thats where Ruthlessness and Relentless strikes kick in. When i throw a Deadly throw, I sometimes get 1 point and 25 energy back for just one CP :D! and ive had several situations where i can keep throwing just because im getting my points back and occasionally some energy from Relentless strikes.

When im using Eviscerate as my finisher with 4 CP on the enemy I usually crit higher then when im using 5 CP :\.Because critting isnt garuanteed with 5 CP, it still remains 20% (for my Rogue)

Example:(situations i had)

4CP Eviscerate---> 20% chance on 1 CP and/or 25 energy per CP (80%chance) 20% chance to crit (for my Rogue) = 1747 crit ,1CP + 25 Energy and 1 less SS used (40 Energy or 2 sec time saving)

5CP Eviscerate---> 20% chance on 1 CP and/or 25 energy per CP (80%chance) 20% chance to crit (for my Rogue) = 1612 crit and no extra's

I dont know how to explain this realy good , but i think that when using Eviscerate its more effective to use it when having 4 CP then when you have 5 CP

Either you had more buffs/ Different gear at the time of the 4CP eviscerate that you did not have at the time of the 5CP eviscerate, or you are just getting unlucky with getting max damage, because as far as I know (I may be wrong, my highest level rogue is just level 36) You SHOULD do more damage with 5 CP's than just 4... I mean the damage increases with CP's... so should crit damage.

I just dont see how could a 4CP do more damage than 5 CP.

As far as my rogue goes, I tend to do 4 pointers, because yes I tend to do more damage with 5, but as you kinda explained, theres a big chance to get combo points back, and energy too, thus you can repeat your combat sequence faster. Also, if I'm fighting a caster mob, normally I would try to do 3-4 CP's and finishing move, because if I try to get 5CP ,he may die before I do so, thus wasting the combo points and probably doing more damage to me than the mob would have done if I had eviscerated him with 3 CP's.

I really think it also comes down to playstiles, and what people feel more comfortable with.
