Tanking set...Follow

Straight to the point. I'm a raiding Moonkin, but I recently had to off-tank the bear in the third boss of heroic Underbog. Wasn't difficult, but it did make me see the need for a new set of gear. I've been looking for a good set, and so far the only one I can think of is the Heavy Clefthoof set. Now, it's a decent set from what I can see, but it IS only 3 pieces. I have many more gear slots.

I won't be tanking something like a Karazhan boss because I don't intend to respec, but I may end up needing to off-tank something like one of those Ravenguards found in heroic Sethekk Halls. The question is, what would likely be some good pieces to go with the Heavy Clefthoof set (should I even bother with that set, for that matter?)? Keep in mind, I've managed to down every boss of Karazhan up to the Curator, and I can handle most heroics, so I've got a pretty good range of places I can go.

That's actually enough - you might want to grab an Earthwarden if you've got the faction, but otherwise, just pick up anygear you find with good armor and STA/AGI to it - the wastewalker set is great, stylin purple hat and the shoulders from BM.

Yeah, I'm working on an Earthwarden at the present time. Just having trouble finding people who give enough of a crap about Coilfang to keep running it.

Anyway, I'm really trying to gear up as though I WERE planning to respec (I figure I'll do the thing right, if I'm gonna do it), which is why I ask about other pieces. So, Stam and Agi? What about Str/AP? As I understand it, these stats are semi-important as well for Ferals... or is that just for Cats? (I've leveled 1-70 Balance, and never really touched on Feral more seriously than the occasional "Let's see how fast I can claw this thing to death" situation.)

In addition to the aforementioned Heavy Clefthoof, there is one item I would like to point out because it's quick and easy to solo, and a garaunteed that you will get it since it's a quest reward.

Manimal's Cinch

The quest begins with Earthmender Torlok (an Orc) in Shadowmoon Valley and is available to both factions. He can be found a bit west of the volcano.

This quest begins the chain: Enraged Spirits of Fire and Earth

**************** Other stuff to consider for the armor multiplier **********************

There are a couple trinkets, one is a raid quest in LBRS Mark of Tyranny, the other you can get in the AH for 1k gold Badge of Tenacity (about what most people charge for it).

There's of course a few cloaks with high armor rating like the Thoriumweave Cloak, and I'd even suggest getting a Necklace of the Deep to slap a couple defensive sockets into like + dodge rating.

Oh yeah, here's a couple rings too: Iron Band of the Unbreakable and the Mok'Nathal Clan Ring.

Careful now, once you see a Dire Bear with all the pre-T4 whistles, you might find yourself respeccing. Hehe

Edit: had to fix a link.

The sticky is your best friend. Among other things, it contains a link to this epic post which contains a shopping list for feral gear, for both DPS and tanking.

And incredibly enough, tonight I was cleaning out my bank... and I discovered, I never DID manage to sell that Badge of Tenacity I picked up months ago. Thought I did, but... MWAHA!

i know this does not answer the question u asked, but this may just help u...

the best way to tank this mob is to not bother, just hibernate him. u should then have time to take down the other guy before he wakes up

+Dodge gems on a rawrbearkittypew = bad. You should be putting Agility gems in there if you want to boost Dodge, as not only does this mean you get a bigger boost from BoK, but our Agility-to-Dodge ratio is far cheaper than our Dodge rating-to-Dodge ratio. Since the two stats have the same itemization cost, the former is a better option.
